Right. Totally cool to play out racism in any kind of way (even funny!); totally uncool to call someone racist in any way. Somebody should write a deep psychology style term paper on you man -- especially if you actually are a minority, but it'd be cool no matter which race you're belonging to at the moment.
People are just too damn scared to speak the truth any more for fear of backlash. What I am about to present to you is a theory so filled with racist unfounded claims that hopefully it will confound your politically correct thinking and you eyes will be opened to the freedom that the unrealistic truth brings. Ask anyone who works in the food service industry which ethnic group is the rudest and tips the least. They'll tell you its the afro-americans. Just like asians and blacks are the only people who eat McDonalds. and White people eat chinese food, and mexicans just eat their own food because its soooooo good. Seriously I had a grilled chicken burrito today and it was so amazing I felt like having sex with it. But anyway the lesson here is simple... black people for some reason don't like tipping and don't like being nice to people who are giving them food. Why you ask? Well would you be nice if you went to get something to eat only to find out that a bunch of honkeys are working minimum wage food service jobs? how dare they! It takes most african americans 8 years of community college to get a management position in the same industry while most idiot pimple faced kids are given them same positions in less than 6 months. But you see Affirmative Action changed all that. Now black people get to go work in cozy office jobs they wouldn't have even dreamed of getting before. like that movie The Pursuit of Happyness, you think a white man could have played the role of Will Smith? hell no! no white man would have ever been in that position. He would have been flipping burgers and not getting any respect from the black person who got the accounting job he interviewed for. But the strange thing to me is how black people seem to hate gays more than anything else. All those rappers are using the f***** word left and right and nobody calls them out on it. Isaiah Washington got called on it, but c'mon he's in Hollywood where being black isn't cool anymore anyway. "They" are more homophobic than anybody else. Scream racism when you can't get service in 60 seconds, but then you go right back and discriminate at somebody else. Man I'm just sayin... that sounds like some hypocrisy to me. But why do mexicans and asians get to say the N word now and white people still dont? I thought it was "their" word. Well it obviously isn't. I think it could be our word too but they just don't want to share. Black people never seem to want to share. I wanted to borrow some socks from my black friend the other day but he didn't give them to me. He said "get yo own damn socks" You know I think black people just hate white people so they won't let us use the N word. Well that is just racist in itself, hatred and bigotry just because we are white we don't get to say certain words. THEY ARE IMPRISONING US WITH GRAMMAR. HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE AT ALL!!??!?!?!? THEY DON'T EVEN PRONOUNCE Rs AT THE END OF THEIR SENTENCES OR EVER EVER EVER SAY THE WORD "ASK" WITHOUT IT SOUNDING LIKE "ACKS" I think they are just jealous that being black isn't the "in" thing anymore. Homosexuality is the new culture to be discrim-hated against and jeered yet also examined and held under a microsrope and praised for anything they accomplish because they had to "overcome." Boyz In the Hood is so 17 years ago. Brokeback Mountain is in now. Being black just isn't what it used to be. Pretty soon the being black phase will die out and nobody will even care anymore. I don't have any problem with gay people in that respect, they are gay... whatever. I don't have to agree with it but thats what they've chosen. Black people don't have to be black, They aren't born black, I think being black has always been choice. You look at 50 cent and then look at Clarence Thomas then you tell me which one is black. Black folks tipped me fine at the little seafood place I bartended/waited at. I'm Asian. When I was a pizza driver black folks were generally the crappiest tippers...actually check that, most black people didn't tip at all whereas other races tipped. Personally, I didn't care that much. And there's no way one can argue quality of service because I was delivering a freakin pizza so there's not much action other than "here's your pizza". But while I didn't care, habitual non tippers ended up on the crap list, and most others drivers spit in their pizzas. Just letting you guys know...tip your pizza drivers if you order pizza a lot, because there's a good chance they'll spit in your food if you don't tip.
If you thought someone was a bad tipper...wouldn't you want them out of your section as soon as possible? Take it up with the hostess to keep them from your tables if you're a real prick. But once they're there, serve 'em, bill 'em and send them on their way.
I think this guy bought one of those "Jump to Conclusions" mats from office space and landed on racism.
I worked at Sonic last summer and I'm currently working there this summer until I start up school again. In general Don't Tip: Teenagers of all races Black couples Hispanic couples young white couples People of all races that are in their car alone crabby old people of all races Do Tip Middle-aged white couples families of all races I'm just sayin' how it is. If it's a family, they are more likely to tip. If they're white, they're more likely to tip. *shrug*
Interesting insights, but I'm wondering about the practicality of tipping for fast food? In that setting, you probably can't "adjust" your level of service based on tipping potential right? Everybody gets their food in the same amount of time? Are y'all paid the minimum wage, or are you expected to earn based on tips?
You missed my point entirely. Ok, let me spell it out. I said you better be 100% sure that you're being given crappy service because of your race before you play that card. My previous post said that you can't ever really be 100% sure that your crappy service is a function of your race unless someone is tell you that's why you are getting the service or if there is a sign up saying "treat your kind crappily" Get it?
I got it. Now tell waiters to apply that knowledge to their customers, unless they have waited on them before and know their tipping habits then treat them as good as their other customers, and we have a deal.
Yeah, it's pretty despicable; but it reminds me of all the times I heard other blacks call Byron Allen, Bryant Gumbel, Wayne Brady or any non-liberal black politician "white:" not to mention Alphonso Ribeiro's character on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
