Just trying to start some reverse psychology over here. Last time Manny started a thread like this they Yanks whooped some ass!
...and Randy Johnson, and Phil Nevin, and Kenny Lofton, and Freddy Garcia, and.... ----------------------- On an unrelated note, who was the best SS in Astro history? I don't know their early history very well, but as far as I can remember Dickie Thon was pretty damn good. The year before he got hit in the eye he hit something like .300 and 20 HRs. That's especially good in the era (and ballpark) he played, and light-years better than any other Astro SS I can remember.
Ah-ha! I found Thon's career stats. Thon's Career Stats The year before he got hit in the eye (1983), he batted .286 with 20 HRs, 28 2Bs, 9 3Bs, 79 RBIs, 81 Rs, 34 SBs. Maybe not HOF numbers but he had speed and was developing into a very good hitter, with power. Him and J.R. Richards are my leading "Hall of Hard-Knocks" vote-getters.
Hey, Mr. Kim, why don't you sit on the bench for the remainder of the Series? BTW - Good job Mr. Brenly, here's $5, maybe you can get Managing for Dummies in the offseason. I hear its a good read. Thanks a bunch.
