morey running for office in 08? he is on Tv and radio more than perez hilton :p

"We want VSpan back, he's under contract, and coming back is the best thing for him"
that's the most promising part of the interview, coming back is the best thing for V-span

That quote and Morey's facial expression was a thinly-veiled threat. Of course, with nine guards on the roster, Houston is NOT the best thing for V-Span. What Morey was telegraphing was that you don't want to breach your contract or else... In the NBA only the owners can breach contracts: Mark Cuban with Nellie, Jim Dolan with Larry Brown, Donald Sterling with multiple coaches...

The ultimate test in that regard is coming: if teh Lakers don't trade Kobe, will he sit out and if he did what would happen then? In the past the owners have been very united behind closed doors and adamant that they would not sign a player whose contract is voided because he wouldn't play for another team. That would be a very bad precedent and the agents have always known it. I remember Steve Francis, back when he was an All-Star and Franchise said he would not play for Orlando if traded, only to have his agent explain to him that if he did that he would never play in the league again.

Kobe is rich enough and a sociopath enough to void his contract. Then It would be the ultimate test for the owners to stand united and resist signing him.

Is Morey still with the Celtics when they drafted bunches of rookies such as Gomes,West,Perkins and Jefferson? If he's still with them at that time, all of those picks were solid contributors..Maybe he cold do the same for the Rox

Hill thank you for the video!
    Morey said nothing!!
    Public Relations Video
I came away after thinking about what he said and didn't say and quite frankly he sounded like JVG part 2. Especially his negativism towards Rookies and he gave the feeling that "WIN NOW' is the going scenario. When our General Manager starts looking for experienced older players through free agency [in the case of the Rockets] it often means cheap older player who have seen their best days a season or two in the past. Hope not!!
I just hope that all of this is a 'BLIND' and we will be singing his praises by the start of the season. Wishful thinking!! :p

You are not my favorite poster on this board but I have to say you hit it on the money. Morey said nothing and that was his intention! I am suspecting the Rockets will draft Tiago Splitter or Bellinelli... in either case they will not sign either until next year. A long shot is Sean Williams but as Yetti said Morey said nothing!

I doubt he's even that good back in Israel. There are plenty of players who get dunks in games, from these clips, he's not doing anything spectular by Euroleague standards.. unfortunately.
