I have a feeling we won't get a PF through the draft.

I voted for williams on your list but am on the BPA wagon along with many others. if someone like almond/bellineli falls and williams is there who the "better" player is becomes debatable. esp. considering how hard it is to find affordable big men. but i think the two guards I mentioned both have a better chance of contributing immediately after williams.

I think McRoberts catchs alot of flack, and I think he would be a good tweener on our team. but he is projecting out to be more of a SF than a PF in NBA terms...

fezekas doesn't really do much for me. we've seen how much the padgetts/bullards/novaks of the world contribute. no thanks.

I guess big baby would be second on my list behind williams. I don't see him as a first round prospect, and wouldn't mind trading down or buying a pick in the 2nd depending on the circumstances of the draft. his game could potentially be very effective along side yao. and at where he is being picked its not a big gamble financially.

Chad Ford's latest mock draft has the Rockets taking Fazekas over Glen Davis.

On a related note, I don't believe Morey's BS about taking the best player available. If the Rockets don't draft a PF, that will leave them with a huge hole at the position that they'll have to fill either via trade or free agency. Do you think that very obvious hole will affect their negotiating position with other teams and free agents? I'm sure that Morey will draft a PF no matter what, then spin it by saying that PF was the best player available per his evaluation. Then he'll go out and try to acquire a vet PF.

The more I read about Sean Williams the less I like the pick.

But McRoberts and Fazekas are both borderline 1st round talent, with very limited upside.

If Rockets keep the pick, it has to be for whoever is left of the 3:

    Rudy Fernandez
    Marco Belinelli
    Morris Almond

Or trade down to the 30's and take PF/C Kyrylo Fesenko. He's tougher and bigger than Williams/Fazekas/McRoberts. Better athlete than Fazekas/McRoberts and better range than Williams.

as long as its not Mr Cook by way of Fakerville.

    i want a banger.

where is Danny Fortson? if he could be had for the minimum and showed some desire to get in shape - he would be worth a look.

Diogu could be had from GSW I would of thought.

Package up with Head included to get Ike? I'd like to see that.

Diogu was traded to the Pacers and he was the player they targeted in the Dunleavy-Murphy for Harrington-Jackson deal.

Big Baby is the real deal and I've seen him do it against pros, however, I think the guy is a legitimate 6'7" and not 6'9". The question for him is can he make the west power forwards play him on defense. He would be a success if scores and rebounds half of a Duncan and Boozer.

Take the best player available. None of these pfs are starters and we need a starter pf. Trade for Wilcox or maybe sign Danny Fortson. Fortson is a rfa, but I doubt Seattle will match unless they want to be spitefull at their cost (which I doubt). Wilcox has better overall 48 minutes numbers, but Fortson won't cost us any players.
