    I haven't made up my mind on her. I like the fact that she's different, not a Britney Spears fake ass singer. Then again, she scares me. I feel uneasy when I watch her and I'm not hip enough to really love her music, but I sorta like it.

    I would be more into her if she looked like she did before she got hooked on drugs.

    I like her signing a lot. I like the music that it is a derivitive of. I like the fact that she isn't some fake ass pop princess tart like all the other ones.

    She isn't totally hot or anything, but she is a far better package than Paris Hilton, or Britney Spears.

    I've never heard her songs until I saw this thread. Just seeing her image I was thinking 'oh great, another Avril Lavigne' and tried avoiding it. But she's actually a decent singer and I like the throwback sound (Motown I guess?). I'd probably be more interested in listening to the stuff this is derived from (as FranchiseBlade put it). Any recommendations?

    has nobody heard her "rehab" song?

    its all over the radio and is a very catchy tune... it doesnt even sound close to anything from todays music...

    she was famous in '04 in the UK, with all the new artist awards and accolades, but since her music came to the US, she has been nothing but tabloid fodder, another artist strung out on heroin...

    Although they don't have the throwback sound you may be looking for, both Regina Spektor and Feist are dynamic female singer/songwriters who you should check out if you like Amy Winehouse's music.
