Holy Crap it sucked!!! I can't think of one good scary part. Spoiler Maybe a marginal knee jerk, no gore, the most suspense was the discussion of what the room was. Big whoop. So he saw some ghosts jump out of the window. the air con was broke, and the portraits changed. Then he got wet. Whoop dee freaking do. I payed to get scared. I wanted to be entertained. I wasn't.
Idk i actually thought it was really good, better then the usual slash and hack movies, and the ending i thought was pretty good.
that's a compliment, falcon. they gave it 2 thumbs up. Roeper said: "a terrific film" Ebert said: "a stunning, shocking and very delighted thumbs up." http://bventertainment.go.com/tv/buenavista/ebertandroeper/ i don't think they agreed with you!
You can say what your want but I think you'll agree in the 1408 is better than all that horror torture p*rn out there.
Yea it was nice to see non-torture p*rn for once...I saw a preview for Captivity, which looks to be another one of those. At least it has Elisha Cuthbert.
Better? I wanted to be entertained and scared. I wanted to be shocked. I wanted to go OHHHHHH JEEZ!!! This movie got none of that from me...and I love Stephen King. I would rather have seen a knee jerk gore fest than this particular movie. It seems like I'm in the minority. I look to movies for entertainment, not art. I want horror movies to scare me, scifi to be cool, and comedies to be funny. No more, no less.
did you like the movie adaptation of misery? it wasn't scary nor a gore fest, but i thought it was pretty damn good movie.
This was scary along the lines of Seven or Silence of the Lambs...Stuff that could really happen. If you think the "hobbling" scene was not horrific, you need to check your pulse. Misery was a mastery of suspense.
I liked it, I thought it was a good change of pace from the typical horror movies out there right now.. I'd give it a 7/10 solid, but not great..
I liked it. It was good and it didnt have to just use blood and gore. Movies like hostel are just gross, they arnt scary at all. That is what horror movies have turned into. Just pure gore with no fear. Although I do like the saw series (there's a lot more story than Hostel), it really isnt scary.
went to go see it saturday night. 30 min into movie sound messes up. theatre didnt know what was going on, everyone left and they gave us free admission tix on the way out. prob go see it this afternoon
