Yao is #1 center (CENTER) not PF posing as center.

Yao will get even better with CD and others FINALLY getting the skyhook into his shot selection and having to work a little more outside. The dude has range to 20 ft and if he is outside a little bit more, then he can save his energy to crush when he's inside. It's hard to give 2 hand push to Yao if he's 15 ft from the rim and facing it. It's an all out shoving match when he's within 8 ft.

TMAC will get easier shots instead of creating everything for himself and others. Plus he will rest more with Mike and Bonzi taking up the slack.

Battier (if not traded) will start to look good when he is getting into the offense instead of waiting for the 3pt. He is going to surprise people with his all around game.

Now the PF spot is a big hole and Chuck is OK for spot duty but should not start in a championship caliber team.

As for Rafer, he will be OK as long has he's not playing over 30 min a game. He actually played well in the playoffs. He is not as bad as people think. Just don't play him that much. Actually, 25min for him and 23 for MJ would be great.

I dunno, you can easily make that argument now that Amare got 1st team honors this year for the center position. You can say that Amare w/o Nash is complete crap, but I think you can say the same about Yao w/o Tmac.

uh no. w/o tmac, yao can't win and carry a team. but he can EASILY score 25+ or even 30-35 pts EASILY. he's a 1-on-1 player, not a fastbreak or dunk player like amare.

amare can't carry a team either and obviously not as well as yao. and it's not even nash i'm talking about. he fits in a system and that system is a fast-paced type of system. he can't really create his own shot effectively, esp. against double teams if he faces any.

You forget, mavs CHOKED. LOL DIRK. Just like vs. warriors. Sorry those 2 series weren't won, DALLAS LOST. As much as it pains me to say, Dallas probably shouldve won last two years, they have stacked talent, but Mr. Choke Himself (Dirk) let them down.
