Ye Li: Sit up, Hubby. We're on live TV. Yao Ming: This sucks! Even my wedding's broadcast?! Liu Xiang (current world recorder holder for men's 110m hurdles): Man it took shorter for you to get married than my hurdles' record!!
Yao Ming deserves some space, but I think it's all about perspective. In our mind: he is being hounded by the media at every moment of his life. In his mind: he may feel overwhelmed/proud that his country wants to celebrate his wedding with him.
I don't get it. No matter how he might feel proud that his fellow countrymen like him, he should reject any proposal to put his wedding on the show. That just doesn't make any sense. Jordan was a much greater basketball player than Yao, but I did not hear that ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX tried to broadcast Jordan's wedding. That's your private life, get a clue Yao. And it's also ridiculous that China's television has this insane idea. What a shame.
Did you read what I wrote? I think this is CCTV's wishful thinking.....and as Lu Hao,Yao Ming's China agent said, it is not firm yet when and where the wedding will be held. It could be held in Shanghai or Houston.....and I don't think it will be on CCTV.
Yao should firmly reject any suggestions to put his wedding on TV. It's a joke already that there even exists such a wishful thinking.
It's not unprecedented that the wedding of Asian celebrities is broadcasted on TV. Just off my head, do you know Norika Fujiwara? The Japanese hottie? Her wedding last year was broadcasted live on Japanese TV. I hope Yao can sing better than Norika's hubby in the wedding, The TV station has the right to make an offer and ask. Yao has the right to decline. A business deal will be made if the price is right. That's what capitalism is all about. What kind of problems do you have with it? And why are you so mad anyway? You seem to need the help of an anger management class more than anything else.
LOL.......Of course not.... I don't even know Big Yao and I never met him in person. The fans/media in China speculate that Liu Wei, his closest buddy in Shanghai Sharks and the starting point guard of the national team will be his best man.
Who cares that biaatch. And angry? what were you smoking? I feel it's a joke for Yao to even consider let TV broadcast his wedding. Well, he does have the right, to let them broadcast everything, from wedding, honeymoon, etc. LOL
Considering Yao's personality, I seriously doubt he'd want such a wedding. This is such a non-story anyway. It sounds more like a ploy to generate gossip, etc.
You came across as being extremely mad to me in your posts. You were able to express your feelings more clearly in your last post with the help of the "LOL" at the end though. I didn't say you care about Norika Fujiwara and I don't care whether you care about her or not either. The name of this pretty lady just popped out from my head when I tried to think of the Asian celebrities who had their wedding broadcasted on TV before. Like I said, the TV station has the right to propose a business deal and Yao has the right to accept or decline it. Is this concept foreign to you? I guess I understand more about what you tried to say now. You just hate the fact that Yao even 'considers' a business proposal, I see. But how do you know Yao is even 'considering' it anyway? Do you have any inside information to share? You seem to know something that it is not even said in the newspaper article.
Well as I've said......this is CCTV's unilateral wishful thinking. Given both Yao Ming & Ye Li being extremely low key persons, I don't think they would give this any serious thoughts. After all, even those attention whores like Tony Parker and Eva Longoria, or David Beckham and Victoria Adams, they too chose to have their wedding done in ceremonies shrouded in secrecy, even though they too admitted that it was extremely difficult to avoid paparazzi.
