I understand tribute albums, but what I don't really understand is how a bunch of pop-emo-punk bands are supposed to give tribute to TSP? Despite all this rage, they are still a bunch of guys in black eye-liner... cage. Okay, bad attempt.

Anyway, stranger is that they consider Ben Kweller and Amsterdams as punk?

it's a generalization. young love's cover of 1979 is amazing, and young love is everything but screamo/punk/all the other crap kids listen to these days.

Between the Buried and Me's cover of Geek USA is infinitely better than any of these piece of **** tributes I've heard so far.

    Too soon.

New Pumpkins album comes out 7-7-07, they will have 4 different versions with exclusive songs depending on where you buy it (Target, BB, iTunes)... Kinda lame huh

I'm a fan of young love, the new amsterdams, and ben kweller. and the smashing pumpkins were my favorite band in my angsty teenage years. so i dont think its so terrible.

I just checked it out on your recommendation. It's a pretty straightforward cover, but the original is great so it made the cover good in it's own right.

The emo covers don't sound that interesting, but if there's some places to hear clips I'd check it out.

Did SP anally rape your mother while pouring sugar in your gas tank? (It's a movie reference ;) ). We get it, you don't like them. I just found it funny that you've contributed to almost half the posts here.

Ben Kweller is not "emo punk."

Jared Leto's sound and style is so corny it's almost awesome.

    As for the rest ...(requisite)
