out of the 30 gm's where do you think morey rates? not right now, but where do you think he will end up?
I don't think it's possible to rate Morey until he has had a chance to do his job. Kind of like giving a school kid a grade before he takes his test. Give the guy a chance.
I'll let you know when the season starts. If Mike James starts and our draft pick is a Paul Milsap type of player I would say that's a good start to an NBA GM career.
agree..untill he proves it otherwise..im not really sold on this dopey looking guy..i hope hes nothing like the astros gm oh lord!
You can't rate him this early because he hasn't had the chance to do anything. Trading Juwan for Mike James was a plus but we must give him time to reshape this roster before judging him. I think we all agree he isn't very good on camera, but who cares?
Baby steps... Way too early to judge. Lets hope we are singing his praises sooner/later - but preferably sooner.
Any GM can only do what his boss eventually tells him to do but this draft will give us an idea of what kind of a guy he is. I'm not expecting miracles by any means at a low pick but if the Rockets fail to get a good player from a pretty deep draft they should take collective responsibility for another disappointing year.
Honestly, it is just too early to tell. The guy is off to a good start in my book with the Juwan for James trade, but it is tough to get the chemistry just right, most teams tinker and tinker until hopefully it all comes together for a magical run. First you start with a good foundation, which the Rockets have, but it is adding all the complimentary pieces which is a very difficult task, players that seem to be a perfect fit don't work due to many factors, maybe attitude, maybe skillset, maybe intelligence etc.... And you have to keep trying new combos until you get one that just works. Morey has a tough job ahead of him, but at least he has a foundation, which a good number of GMs do not have. IMO. DD
Way to early. Success is defined as surrounding TMac and Yao with enough talent to get out of the first round. The logical next step. The supporting cast last season was a pipedream, no way they were going anywhere in the playoffs. If he can bring in talent with the limited assets he has to deal with he will become a genius.
Right in the middle. Running any business base on statistics can never be the best but won't be the worse.
So far I would say that Morey is setting himself up for a big fall! I hope not as our team needs much help to become a contender in the WC. Morey is showing signs that he wants to be conservative and careful. So far he has swapped Our starting Power Forward for a decent shooting Guard who is a slightly selfish player. He has ignored Coach 'A' and his interest in Ron Artest. if we believe the press and Fan hearsay then we can only expect conservative decissions and a Roster not much better than 06/07 Morey needs to be bold and make a good start not muddle his way through two or three offseasons learning from his mistakes. When good players are on the market he should move heaven & earth to get them if they meet the chemistry and needs of the team.He should have a two or three year building plan and get the best available to fill each part of that plan. Win Now should not be his plan or direction. JVG had that plan and look where it landed us!
