Man- that's interesting. From all I had been hearing Hill was unlikely to sign with Orlando- at least not as likely as Duncan. If Orlando can get Duncan and Hill both, WOW.

I just saw that. I for one am excited about it. I expect Duncan will follow. If so, that will accomplish two things: It will make the Eastern Conference stronger (which is good in my opinion) and it will most likely take the Spurs out of the playoffs for awhile. I don't have anything against the Spurs, but in the deep Western Conference Houston could use all the help it can get in making it into the playoffs.

It would seem, with the signing of Hill, that the Magic will need to get rid of some small forwards. I don't know much about the guys they have, but they have several (now including Mike Miller). Any we would be interested in?

Even if both Hill and Duncan sign with them, does this really make Orlando the Eastern Conf. dynasty everyone thinks it might be?

When Duncan was in SA, David Robinson played center, guarding the other team's big man and letting Duncan dominate opposing PFs on offense. If he moves to C, Duncan will both be guarding and defended by bigger players (and double-teamed on every possession, since Ben Wallace/Bo Outlaw's man won't even pretend to guard them).

When Hill was in Detroit, their offense was built around Hill penetrating & kicking the ball out to an array of good 3-point shooters (in their best years, DET was among the league leaders in 3-pt. FG%). But ORL was in the bottom third of the league in that category last year.

Basically, you're talking about ORL running the same general offense as the Lakers (with Duncan/Hill in the Shaq/Kobe roles), but Duncan isn't nearly the dominating force on offense that Shaq is, and neither is as good defensively as their L.A. counterparts (especially Hill).

These guys could be setting themselves up for an awfully big disappointment.

So true... so true. All of this may be very funny next June, considering Timmy has been getting away w/ avoiding the C most of the time.

let's just say...if Duncan does leave, I will enjoy watching opposing superstar bigmen go against Duncan without a future hall of fame center to do all of the dirty work.

One of those love 'em 'til there gone situations huh MrSpur.

Yeah, the only reason Duncan's any good is because of Robinson. Come on. While the Little Mermaid is a great center, you just trying to trick yourself because your about to lose one of the best players in the NBA.
