Name a decent receiver for the Titans.

David Givens, injuries basically kept him out all of last season but Givens was the prize FA WR just last summer. But the Titans new GM may have had the worst start I've seen in a long long time, you lose your 2 top receivers w/o replacing them and your best RB w/o replacing him. IIRC, the Titans had some cap room to work with this summer, not sure what happened to what could have been a very good offseason for them.

As far as 10-6 for the Texans, the last 5 years have taught me not to be too optomistic with this team. Green and Schaub were 2 big additions to the team, but we don't have a legit #2 WR and still have HUGE holes in the secondary IMO. And as always, the OL will always be a concern until they prove otherwise.

But I do like what Rick Smith has done in his first offseason.

That's faulty logic. They don't root AGAINST Shanghai in favor of Yao. If VY played for the Titans and Houston didn't have a team, I guarantee you that no one would have a problem with VY lovers rooting for the Titans. As a matter of fact, I would bet you that all of the UT alums here that still root for the Texans would then root for the Titans.

oh yeah, sure they are. that's why the Texans ratings were so high in every city outside Houston (sarcasm).

When Houston didn't have a team, houstonians still watched the NFL.
don't be fooled by the amount die hard Texans fans here. Bravo to them cause that's what the team needs. There are not enough of them, because you have to build history and legacies for a team to have a strong fan base.

Like the New Orleans hornets, the hornets have to do something to have die hard fans. i'm sure they have built a following but its nothing compared to the Knicks, Lakers, Celtics and even Rockets.

Its good there's some fans loyal just because they have a team, but the fan base will ONLY increase when they play longer and importantly win.

Houston had the Oilers, despite them never winning the SuperBowl, they had winning momments and a long history.
By the way, in case you didn't know. That Oilers team is called the Titans now. Blame the owner, but if he'd allow the city to have the "OILER" name, it would have been taken 100 out of 100 times over the "TEXANS". this pretty much screw everything up.

Oh they hired Casserdly, where did he come from? the Redskins under Snyder? Jerry West he was not.

people can root against the Texans cause they are just an expansion team. the team has to make the fans loyal, not this lemmings mentality. but bravo to the ones who are diehard, they are trying to start something.

This team should win at least 7 games. With some improving from o line and d line they can win 1 or 2 more games. They need qb to throw for 3000yds 18tds 8-10 ints, the running game to produce 125yds per game. If this happens, they will be alot better than what people think.

Hey maestro, this just in ... no pac-man to clamp down in the secondary and no PR extraordinaire to add a dimension to the Titans offense. Pac-man may never play again if he gets indicted. Man, what an idiot!

    As far as predictions:

    Colts 12-4
    Texans 10-6
    Jags 10-6
    t*** 9-7

If Schaub lives up to the hype or at least competes more than we could say for Carr, add Okoye to team with Supermario. A better complement both in the LB and DB, it could happen.

BTW, Titans 7-9? Where's your confidence in YOUR team? LOL. I guess it will take more than VY after all, huh?

In all seriousness, I think our division has the potential to be one of the most competitive. AFC west maybe but, KC may be heading to downer year (QB questions and LJ-holdout?)and Denver may be in a quandry (may need some more seasoning at QB) while Oakland possibly heads up close to the rarified air of the Bolts, but another possiblity exists, all the other 3 drop down to tier 2 competing teams this year needing another year or two to once again become competitive.

i wouldn't objectively catagorize baby vince's nfl start as "good"; not at all. statistically, it was mediocre, and that's probably being generous. but too much credit was given to baby vince for too many improbable wins that he had little impact on and won't be there this year.

the titans will be a 6-7 win team.

Like when he walked into the endzone at reliant sticking a dagger into the heart of every Texan fan?

The Titans have a lot of problems but Vince isn't one of them. He's a rookie and he's going to get better if they surround him with some more talent.

All that said. Buck Fud Adams and his POS team. I hope they go 0-16 like I do every year.

    yeah, like that one... one.

and was the loss really that traumatic? it wasn't any worse to swallow than the buffalo loss. or, frankly, the 8 other losses last year.

Yeah for a Houston Native who never had any faith in David Carr, wanted the Texans to draft Young and hates Bud and the Titans... Yeah it was worse.

Yes that loss really was that traumatic, everyone know it. To say it wasn't any worse to swallow is a lie.

some people want texan fans to get over vince. i can buy that. some though are in full fledged denial. he's not gonna be good, he really didn't have anything to do with their wins, leadership isn't important, hey he won but look at his td/int ratio, that's what people really care about. etc etc.

the Texans have the most boring name. Why couldn't they stick with the space theme or oil theme?

I personally would have liked the "HAMMERS". so you can have stadium rock to "can't touch this" all the time.

Its funny that some of the same people that want us to get over VY are the same ones that bring him up time after time. But don't worry, it'll only be like this for the next 10 seasons or so.

i honestly and sincerely don't give a flying **** about baby vince and care even less about his the braying worshipping sheep who watch his every move. so, how exactly, was that loss any worse than any of the team's other gabillion losses?

last year, baby vince ranked 30th in qb rating; 30th in yards-per-attempt; and 32nd in completion %.

but because the titans pulled off some ridiculously improbable wins, they somehow negate overwhelmingly mediocre numbers and draw a different, more favorable conclusion?

and we're the ones in denail?.......
