Phoenix with Nash, Kobe and Garnett would be nasty even better than Parker, Ginobili and Duncan. Plus they can still sign someone nice with MLE also retain Atlanta's unprotected 2008 pick.

    Nash
    Kobe
    Bell
    Diaw
    Garnett

    Bench
    Kurt Thomas (re-signed)
MLE maybe PG like Mo Williams
    James Jones

Awesome 8 man rotation with enough players to win championship.

Yeah you pay luxury tax but that's worth it's only about 5-10 mil for a team that could get you a ring for the 1st time in team history.

Would Houston or Sacramento do this trade?? It would help with the powerforward spot and Artest can Rotate with McGrady at the 2 & 3. We can the use the MLE to sign a point guard. Plus, we also have Alston, Snyder, and Lucas who can be traded.

    Line Up:

    (Houston)
    Yao/Deke/Rahim
    Rahim/Hayes/Artest/Novak
    Artest/T-Mac/Bonzi/Novak
    T-Mac/Artest/Bonzi
    ??/James

    (Sacramento)
    Brad Miller
    No. 10 or No. 26 Pick/Thomas/Williamson
    Battier/Williamson/Salmons
    Martin/Head/Salmons
    Bibby/??/Head

Change in team outlook: -5.0 ppg, -3.6 rpg, and +0.6 apg.

    Successful Scenario
Due to Houston and Sacramento being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Sacramento had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I think we should make a deal with the Clippers. I don't think they would be content on just sticking with the same team this summer after a disappointing year, especially with Livingston's status uncertain as well as Cassell's(Point Guards). I know most people seem to hate Tim Thomas but he's not a scrub as most people believe. He would fit in great with the Rockets because he plays well when he has a good playmaker on the team (Nash, Cassell in Milwaukee), and I think he would be the same with Mcgrady. We would play him as a power forward. He has the range to complement Yao well.
Corey Maggette, to me, would be a great fit under Coach Adelman. Guys like Maggette thrive in a kind of free flow tempo, which is what Adelman will bring.
Dunleavy is known to not want Maggette, and I am sure he would love to have a guy like Battier on the team, who has also played with Brand in college. And they'll probably need another point guard with the uncertainties (Jason Hart is not a starter).
    So how about:
Battier + Rafer + Bob Sura
    for
    Maggette and Tim Thomas.
I think this would be fair for both teams, and if the Clippers don't bite, then maybe throw in our draft pick.

    Mike James / MLE
    Mcgrady / Head
    Maggette / Wells
    Hayes / Thomas
    Yao / Deke
Out of rotation: Novak, Lucas, whatever.

I know we wouldn't be as strong defensively with Battier gone, but this team would be a better team for Yao and Mcgrady. Mike James will replace Rafer from last year, and this team will never have a hard time scoring

i have a three word answer for that. waste of time.

not when you already have tmac, battier, snyder and possibly wells plus novak, reed as possible wingmen. honestly, i think kapono's just a glorified version of novak (fantastic shooter with no defense) with a much higher tag price yet not that much effective.

id much rather offer the MLE for someone more needed like a Varejao or take a wild chance at Milicic. Heck, i'd rather go with Devin Brown or Matt Carroll than Kapono because of their lower tag price and yet just as effective.

    plus, its Kapono.. with a K ;)

STEVE F'ING NOVAK!!! The guy is as good of a shooter as Kapono and can't play any worse on defense than Kapono. Plus, Novak's under contract for another year, and we wouldm't have to jack with cap space we don't have to get a semi-proven player like Kaponovich (as he called himself when he didn't get drafted in the first round because of international player hype, so said Kapono).

Adelman might give Novak a chance. Shouldn't you?

OK - Marc jackson - born Jan '75 - height 6' 10" - I'll bet we could afford him without breaking the bank. He plays for the New Orleans Hornets

I'm not opposed to signing someone like jackson or brown for the LLE.

it really depends on where we go with our MLE, if we sign a PF with the MLE we still need to find minutes for chuck and novak.

so jackson wouldn't be very useful.

Giving up Battier, the chuck wagon and a 1st rounder in this deep draft for Marion ... no thanks! Maby V-Span straight away for The Matrix? I was just kidding ... :D

I think we would give up too much in scenario (3), Battier and Head for Aldridge and Webster would be more than enough! We draft with our 1st rounder a young PG (third starter after James and Alston). We don 't know if Bonzi stays, but if he doesn 't we need Snyder to stay AND then we could sign Peterson! But I like scenario (1), (2) and especially (4) ... very much, dude! :D

Marc Jackson is playing for NO, but from this article, it looks like he is opting out.
    NO newspaper
It looks like he got paid around 4.5 mill last year.
