Just wanted to stop in and note that we finished this movie. It took a lot longer than we had planned, but we finished shooting. I'm editing right now. I have a quasi-trailer on the 'net right now. There was a capture issue (something I forgot to take into account when capturing) so the dialogue doesn't always sync with the mouth movement, but that's just for this quickie trailer. The real movie syncs perfectly. I didn't go through and match the levels for this, either, so the audio level comes and goes. But that will be fixed in the final version. At any rate, if anyone is interested, you can download the "trailer" in RealVideo format by clicking here: http://www.spiritofthebull.com/trailer2.rm It's 3.6MB, so it may take a little time to download on slower connections. Also, we have lots of stills, etc. from the shoot at http://www.filmdallas.com if anyone is interested in all that. Now, I will go back to not being here anymore (not that anyone noticed I was gone) and let all of you get back to your business.
Well, I noticed through a search that kirkit left very soon after I did. Was he just not interested in being part of this board if he wasn't aggravating me? At any rate, VHS videos of ...almost (my movie, in case you weren't paying attention) will be available before Christmas. Annoy your friends and relatives by giving them this movie on video for Christmas!
Great to see you at least quasi-back Paige. From what I've seen the movie looks fantastic. I'm sorry if you've touched on these topics before but I must have missed them. Will it be showcased at any festivals and will it get a dvd treatment? Either way congrats on wrapping up your movie and good luck with the post production.
I was waiting to see if it turned out okay before I even thought about significant distribution strategy. Unfortunately, I hit a bad time in regards to film festivals as many of them had final deadlines that have already passed. But my plan is to enter it into a few that have deadlines yet to pass (SXSW, USA Film Fest, etc). We'll see if it gets accepted at any. I also wanted to try and have a screening or two. At least one in Dallas, but perhaps in Houston as well (depends on how many Clutch City Irregulars I could count on showing up. ). I'd like to do a DVD, especially so me and a few of the cast members could do a commentary. I've not committed to doing it yet, though. I guess I want to see how the thing plays from start to finish and in front of people other than me and the cast before I decide on making the commitment to that expense.
