Travel to China, watching tapes on the plane... etc. But you never know. I was pretty down on Tom at the start.
Hilltopper, thanks for making this available. But I am not sure if I am alone here, the video just interrupted constantly during playing... (except the commercial ). The audio can barely be heard...
why is yao getting tutoring from many different people? yao should simply get one coach (maybe hakeem). and he should just hone on his skills HIMSELF. he's playing the "new" style of game today. he knows it himself. why is he getting so many different help from different ppl? i prefer if he's getting it from hakeem or he's pushing himself internally. he's a veteran already.
I've noticed on all the vids you've posted I need to crank the volume all the way to max. I haven't really looked into what the problem may be - I just crank it back down after I'm done listening. It could be your vids, it could be my PC/codec, who knows. The commercial on this one is slightly louder than Sikma. I don't recall how loud they were in comparison on previous posts. No biggie. Still a great service you're doing.
I think it's funny how everybody and their mother is stepping up to help Yao mow. Where were these guys a few years ago when he averaged 13 points a game and got the crap beat out of him every game. CD had the chance to work with him the first year and didn't. Everybody was ready to pass the buck. But now that he is developing/ especially before the knee injury this season, everyone wants some credit and a piece of the pie. It's nuts.
I have figured out problem with choppy video... there is a setting in the adobe flash player setting "Local storage", the default is 100k. After I changed that to "unlimited", I have no problem with video any more. Hope this helps.
Please enough of the shoveling **** around. We all know JVG lovers want to take the credit for Yao's improvement but the fact is Yao is the one who deserves 99% of it or if you may GOD.
Everyone wants Yao to succeed. So of course they all want to help him. There is nothing more gratifying than to pass a little bit of knowledge onto someone that will listen and take it to heart. I would imagine once the real intense training for next season starts there will be just one coach for Yao, but its never bad to have other people giving ideas to try and help.
i have the exact same "problem." it's not a big deal to me either, but i do have to blast the volume to hear it.
No problems with video or volume. Hilltopper, thanks for posting the links, much better than the ones on rockets.com I can never hear (post game comments, no sound), so these videos are great. Thanks!
I really don't agree with that. He would have never learnt half his low post skills if he wasn't force fed what he had to do in the low block. Like most people have been crying for he wasn't exactly a low post threat when he first started. I wouldn't go 99% Yao's credit but JVG did do alot for him. Yao himself had said so as much. I don't know why people can't believe the man himself
You think it's funny how a possible assistant for the Rockets is trying to help Yao Ming? CD did work with him the first year, you're wrong.
i think thats a very common mistake, i.e. thinking that some hall of famer/great player has to teach yao to help him improve. all advice helps but it is possible to know how to play the lowpost posittion without being an all time great. Plus, lets also remember yao bares the bulk of the responsibility. It doesnt matter what the teacher says or does, yao himself has to do it.
Sikma talks about an uptempo game that depends on Yao getting a rebound and making a good outlet pass. That means everytime we score quickly on a fastbreak, Yao only has to jog to midcourt or so. Four good fastbreak baskets a game and that saves Yao two trips up and down the court. Sikma also talks about using Yao in the high post. 4 or 5 of those possessions spread throughout the game saves Yao another full court trip. Sounds like some thought has been put into the new O and they're trying to come up with ways to not only utilize Yao better but to also let him catch a breath while he's on the court... as well as preserve his energy for late in the games and late in the season. I'm all for this. I hope similar thought is being directed at the D end.
