I'm sure we all can agree that the Knicks had the best opening night ceremony honoring the 9/11 attacks, but who had the worst in your opinion? My vote EASILY goes to Phoenix. Second class organization, second class fans, second class presentation. Didn't even bring a musician to sing/play "God Bless America". They just played a recording. Then, they brought in Tower Of Power's trumpet player, who is a decent trumpet player, and had him play the national anthem while the fans sang along. WTF?!?!? I hate the Suns, and this was another example of them being classless.
The Lakers had a pretty alright ceremony. I had never heard of the guy that sang the national anthem, but he did a really good job. The thing with Phoenix having the fans sing along sounds kinda cool.
It wasn't. A lot of people apparently didn't know the words and the crowd was only half full anyway. I think most of the people there spent the whole game watching the D-backs on the Jumbotron.
ya it was pretty good.. but a bit long dont yall think? it last what felt like 30 minutes. they sang 4 songs.. thats a bit much for me
The Orlando Magic organization should be embarassed over the opening ceremonies for yesterdays game. With Disney and some of the best PR/media people right across town you'd think it would have come off better than my old high school's opening assembly. What a joke. I don't know if the Rocks play on Friday but anyone who has a dish should check out the Raptors-Mavs game. I'm curious to see how you'd compare the arena / fans / ceremony with others you've seen these past couple of days.
From what I hear, the Magic's was one of the best. And Disney isn't exactly a partner with the Magic, nor are any of the tourism groups. That's why they have trouble getting tourist dolalrs for an arena.
