Glen Rice couldn't buy a jump shot. Walt was just standing around. Cat was just dribbling and dribbling way too much. Kenny thomas just shoots from outside way too much. Our rookie sensation Griffin looked lost. And even the franchise was making dumb passes and forcing shots. Hell the only person that played a respectable game was Cato.

We looked like a bunch of players who haven't played together and not a team.

Oh wait a minute they haven't played together! That's right these guys are just getting to learn each other. And when they do watch out.

Rice will definitely hit his fair share of shots. Cuttino will know when to pass to and not dribble so much. KT won't take as many outside shots and hit more of the ones he takes. Griffin will get comfortable and become a legit contributor off the bench and maybe even a starter. And the franchise will just take over. Hell even Cato will get better.

These Rockets are just getting started just wait and see. These Rockets are going to be a fun team to watch! :)

I had fun watching them already. Beat watching Batman and his tired Wizards go against that sorry ass Knicks team. Or the Lakers whip Scottie "two points" Pimppen.

Atlanta looks like a solid playoff team in the East, and we beat them with a rusty rag tag game. :D

The first part of your post almost made me post the second part. I am glad I finished reading it!

I agree however, I thought we did look real good for parts of the first half. The 4th quarter sucked though. Good thing we played good defense.

There was a lot of talk about how improved the Hawks are this year. Let's give them credit. Part of the reason we played so poorly was because of their defense. 4 minutes without a field goal? That may be the last time you see that all season with Steve, Cuttino, and Rice healthy.

That said, Rice had a lot of good looks that just didn't fall which lead to him passing up a few open shots as well.

Neither team was at full strength, which also played a part in the poor performances.

Any word on injuries after the game? I didn't read anything, but I saw Cato shaking his wrist a lot after taking a charge, Cuttino was grimacing as well, probably from his hip injury. I'd be interested in an update on Rice's back and foot too.

Rosters are rusty, But beating Hawks was just great considering they where one of the team to beat in the east. As for all the young Rockets I;ve enjoy watching them and knowing we got what it takes during crunch time.

Rockets played well enough to win and that is good enough for me. As for the Hawks, I think they are getting too much hype. It's in vogue to call them the up and coming team. They lost to the Rockets last night with the Rockets delivering their "c" game.

What's REALLY cool, is that even though all the things you say are true, we STILL found a way to win against a good team. That's what was the most encouraging part of last night's game ...
