Can anyone here do it? I have been trying for the past 3+ years to wake up and feel refreshed, but I always feel drugged out when I wake up. I really do not become awake until I see and talk to other people. Additionally, I always become incredibly tired at lab when I am not thinking about anything particular (like when I am waiting for something to finish up).
I think that's how it's like with many people. Then again. That's just what I think. Im just like you!
Sleeping pattern is out of whack. Sleep more hours than usual. Sleep as soon as you get in the bed... (no watching TV, no reading, etc.) and get a full breakfast. Or... are you talking about some sort of wash before you go to sleep?
The only time I am ever tired is when I wake up. I feel more alive staying up for 20hrs than I do after a 10hr sleep. Its brutal.
The only time I wake up refreshed is when I've been working out for a while. But as of right now I don't feel too good in the mornings. I need to hit the gym.
Do you exercise regularly? That helps me. You can also drink a lot of caffeine before you go to sleep. You will be refreshed, if you can even fall asleep that is.
i hear you. i remember as a kid waking up and feeling great in the morning but i haven't experienced that in years. once i'm up and about im generally ok though. exercise is a big boost, i never have energy when i get up but i feel a lot better after a workout. also if i sleep over 10 hrs its no good for me. i'm best with like 7-8.
I always stumble into the shower after hitting snooze about 5-10 times, only once out of the shower do I feel awake Wife annoys me, she's one of those "morning people" I hate people like her.
I do, but not at the moment I wake up. Who the hell does? It takes some push-ups/crunches, making bed, breakfast, brushing teeth, showering, shaving, combing/primping. Come to think of it, that about 30 minutes. nevermind
Funny you mention that, I can't remember the last time I just felt awesome when i got up. I always feel tired and it takes me a while to actually wake up. Even if I sleep in on the weekends I still feel fairly crappy when I get up.
I think it is more about attitude than anything. When I wake up on a day when I am happy and looking forward to something--for instance the days I have sex with Jessica Alba--I always feel good and refreshed. But if you are talking about mornings when you wake up and know you have to go do something you won't enjoy--like the days you have sex with Kathy Bates--then no, you won't feel refreshed because your mind isn't into it.
for me, it's all about sleeping early so that i wake up naturally. that means no alarm clock (or set it as a emergency deal but usually you wake up before). i find that + an early morning exercise routine keeps me pretty refreshed.
