Gooden an option?

Jun 18 - The Cavs have salary-cap issues and might be unable to re-sign Anderson Varejao and Sasha Pavlovic, two of their top six players.
Don't be surprised to see them offering Drew Gooden, and he could end up with the Bulls, Chicago Tribune.

I think this is a realistic option and a perfect fit for our squad. Since they need cap room Sura+Head or Snyder+ V-Span would be enough.

The whole Cleveland team looked lost in the Finals.. :)
Gooden reminds me of a younger J Howard... he can make those mid range jumpers and rebounds pretty good... it'll be nice if we can get him

I thought the knock on him was that he was not too smart, and had a hard time picking up offensive and defensive sets.

    I would prefer Collison.

He's a true PF at 6'10" and 250 lbs. His best scoring output came in the first round of the playoffs at 14.5 points. In the finals he scored 13.3 points. He wouldn't be a bad addition to a Rockets team in need of rebounding and a small scoring need at the PF.

Gooden averaged 13 points and 8.4 rebounds a game in 02-03 when he played with McGrady.

Collison would be nice, but is he even available? I haven't seen him mentioned in any trade rumors.

Never less than 11 points and 7 rebounds in his carrer is pretty consistent and good.

You want him? Easy, simple: Rafe/Sura = Gooden/Jones. Cleveland does it. Do the Rox?

Not sure how much creedence to put into an article without a link. And on top of that, an article confusing salary cap with Luxury Tax.

IMO, Gooden's not the best option for the Rockets. Looks too lost on both ends. And Adelman will surely have more complex sets than what the "give it to LeBron and let him create" Cavs use. Further, I doubt CLE trades a starter for Rockets' bench players especially after seeing how far they are behind the WC.

Why would Cleveland do this? I can see why the Rockets would, but why from Clevlands side?

The salary cap issues is the Luxury tax. And this article came from Espn Insider.

Jones sucks, and the cavs will take any point guard they can get their hands on the Cavs would do it in a heart beat.

It's really nice if he comes. While I'll also be happy if Head stays.

Sounds like a match in heaven, we have too many PGs and they don't have one.....

I really like Verejao though more than Gooden, but either is an upgrade to Hayes.

No, he's right. Gooden is the epitome of an inconsistent, hit or miss kind of player. Pull up his game logs from across the years and you will see why.

Furthermore, Gooden is BYC and we all know how difficult completing trades involving BYC players is.

So what you're telling me is you don't know the difference either, right?

And that an "insider" doesn't recognize that the Bulls have Nocioni, Tyrus Thomas and PJ already at PF.
