You put together your team to try to win a title. If they called I would say we are very busy, Shane is a big part of this team but he is not untouchable. Rockets have an obligation to THIER specific signage and sponsership deals not to a certain players no matter if that company is a Rockets sponser or not. If this company is doing good buisness with the Rockets than nothing should be said. If there is an issue with the China Peak Group and the Rockets than a sitdown is in order. If it's about Battier than tough ****.

you don't get my point do you? it as simple as does a commercial deal with any shoe company dictate personnel decisions of an nba team..

Its not like a Battier trade is in the works. It's not. Rumors are rumors. Unless the Rockets get something very good in return, no way would they trade him. He costs a #8 and another player (forget his name - not important ;) ).

The company took a risk and it's understood. And isn't Ivery pretty popular in China also? He doesn't play for the Rockets.

In the end, if Battier is traded, he may lost the deal. That's between him and the shoe company and has nothing to do with the Roclets.

Peak invested millions on the Rockets and Battier, if one is gone then theres really no point in investing the other. Before Battier started endorsing/wearing PEAK, who knew all those PEAK signs in Toyota Center were from a shoe company?

Ha, don't be naive. You really thing Nike or Adidas never try to manipulate any trade of players?

    Interesting.
Battier is pretty popular in China and Peak may lost much if he is traded. But the administation of a club certainly cannot be affected by a company in association with a certain player, that is, if they wanner trade Battier, they just do it. Luckily they won't trade him only if they could get another valuable player.

Exactly. The Rockets will not let a shoe company come in and try to influence their team decisions. What kind of farking bullshiznit is this? Do they really think they have a say in this kind of stuff, that they are owed explanations? If they want to pull their sponsorship if Battier is traded, that's fine, but China isn't watching the Rockets for Battier, they are watching for Yao.

The only way I can see it happening is Peak's CEO would promise that Peak will try to lure any FA rox interested in with a multi year shoe contract.

It would be nice if we could get endorsement deals for players guaranteed if they signed here. Imagine if we could give Rashard the MLE and then a shoe company would guarantee the rest in endorsements.

Umm I think the team comes first and more important than sponsorship and commercial deals. It's not like the organization is in a bind that we desperately need their endorsement or anything. In case people forgot, we still have the China-born center, YAO MING. lmao @ these guys thinking they can talk the Rockets management out of a trade, if there is one. If there is a trade where we can get an upgrade over Battier, you are definitely going to take it over some shoe deal.

LMAO! For sure Nike or Adidas tries to influence the players destination. But they try to work with players' agents, not the ball club. That's how business goes.

Well, IMHO, the China Peak Group only wants to find out the real situation of whether Shane Battier will be traded or not.

Commercial wise, it has alot to do with their marketing campaigns all focused and centred on Shane recently.

Besides they have spent months in planning Shane's July visit to China, which will be just weeks away.

    http://sports.jschina.com.cn/gb/jschina/sports/nba/userobject1ai1534370.html

It was known that Shane will be visiting China between July 9 ~ 15.

He will be visiting 5 cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen and Quanzhou.

His activities in Beijing will include a press conference, and then a fans gathering at the new Beijing Olympia Stadium....the Bird Nest, and some golfing.

He will also be visiting Yao Ming's home in Shanghai, and have the chance to taste some Shanghainese cusine prepared by Big Yao's Mom for him. If Yao Ming is still in China at that time, he probably will join his team mates there.

In Shanghai, he will also be appearing on a very popular Chinese variety show on TV.

He will then be in Ningbo, visiting the Bayi Rockets, the CBA champions, and be meeting the "War God" Liu Yudong, the first generation official spokesperson of China Peak Group.

He will then fly Xiamen to be Guest of Honor for China Peak Group's national sales summit, and held a fans gathering there.

Finally before leaving China, as interested as Shane is in religion/Buddhism, he will visit the Southern Shaolin Temple at Quanzhou.

Ummm... any of you guys ever have a business meeting before?

you guys make it sound like this Peak company is demanding Bat not be traded...granted they probably dont want that to happen...

its simple...the endorsement deal ends if he gets traded.... im sure they are just trying to find out what whats going to happen to thier spokesman...(and then plug in a new player if thats the case)

if they got advertising deals with the Rox also... I can also see them wanting to meet over that too...

A few millions endorsement deal is good in NBA but not influential. Just look at how many millions they wast on players (eg. Bonzi last year). You can always try to find out what happens. But your endorsement wont get on the way a team to make its decision.

lol rockets would only lose respewct for them. If trading Battier means they wont do busienss with the ROx no more, then another company would. If Li Ning went for DAmon Jones, my god, they'd go for anybody. If i was rox management i'd laugh and say good bye.

Here is a crazy insane idea. Tell Peak they can buy Shane's contract from the Rockets and NBA then lease him back to the Rockets for $!.00 a game. That way they will have there spokesman on the Rockets and we have room under salary cap. Wouldn't that open up a bag of worms financially :D !
