I started the Body For Life plan only a couple of weeks ago and I can already tell a little difference.

It says to alternate 3 small meals and 3 snacks a day (one every 3 hours), so I'm eating lots of whole grain foods for meals and lots of Myoplex shakes/bars for snacks. It's pretty easy because of all the whole-grain products on the market these days. You can get whole-grain pasta, tortillas, cereal, breads, buns, and even waffles. And the Myoplex bars are DEEEE-LISH. Shakes?....not so much...

I'm also working out 6 days a week, alternating between weight training and cardio. It's easy because my weight lifting regime only takes 45 minutes (because I use a stop-watch) and my cardio only takes 20 minutes.

Best thing about this plan is the "free day" where you can pretty much eat anything you want within reason for one day a week.

But anyway, so far, so good. Anyone here tried this plan?

    body for life?

I think what you mentioned is what every work out program recommends.

Bodybuilders have basically been doing this since the early 70's. The rest of the world finally figured out that BB's know *GASP* how to lose fat and gain muscle.

This guy just wrote a book and included a cheat day.

I'm not taking a shot at you (the way some of the other threads I post in go I just wanted to make that clear) and from what I know of this plan its probably the most unFAD like of all the FAD diets.

You are following a proven and time tested way of being healthy.

ya. to take it one step further, instead of using a cheat day..use it as a refeed day..meaning eat more of the same healthy stuff you eat on a diet day. that way u dont stuff your face with cheesecake and pizza.

Oh yeah, I'm not saying it's anything revolutionary or anything, just that the website (I didn't buy the book) makes it easier to understand. And the fact that it's the most unFAD like of all the FAD diets is the main reason I like it. I wouldn't even call it a "diet".

LOL, I don't pork out or anything. I usually stick to the plan until dinner time, when I'll eat whatever I've been craving all week long. Then get right back on it Monday morning.

I had a friend who tried it and lost a lot of weight. Too bad he put it back on. Losing and maintaining weight becomes a wya of life. It's not something you can do temporarily and expect it to benefit for life.

Both of the points you made are the main reasons this plan will succeed. Revolutionary is crap.
