in the nice/cannes area. nothing too outlandish, but something nice.... hotels, villas, condos, etc. merci.
the last time i was in nice we stayed outside of town. Its the first stop after you leave nice...just a 12 min train ride and much cheaper motels.
what kind of budget were you looking at. I stayed in nice for a while at this hotel/motel, small little place in an amazing area full of rest and nightlife and not too far from the beach and casino i believe a one bedroom queen ran about 80-90 euros, but it was very very small lobby was nice, no amenities, but was very clean and the location was great i left my digital camera there and the staff shipped it to me back here in houston ill get the name and post it on here
i'm going with the folks, so spending $300-$400 a night would be out of the question, but it needs to sleep 4 with relative comfort.... but that sounds about what we're looking for.
We stayed at the Sofitel in Nice last year. It was very nice, 4 star I believe and right in the city center. The pool was on top of the hotel overlooking the city and beach. Pretty sweet.

a piece of advise. always secure your wallet and travel documents. don't put it an a bag or your pants...
