If looking at how Adelman want a more aggresive PG.. it could be MJ will be the starter..

For PF, how about G.Wallace from Bobcat? He is available right?

Wallace is more of a SF too...Another undersized PF?...

And his contract is expiring...So is Hermann's...I think it's a tossup which one of the two theyre going to resign...Dont think they will resign both...

I'd love to have Chris Wilcox / Nick Collison or Troy Murphy or Zach Randolph etc. etc. but these PFs are either unobtainable or too expensive.

Hottoddie is on the right track looking at free agents like Jamaal Sampson, Melvin Ely, Chris Mihm, etc. -- players we can acquire with our LLE or MLE, depending, of course, on whom we draft.

Gerald is more SF that's right but he's strong enough to play PF. But we need a real PF

I'd like Hermann on the Rockets but May & Emeka are always injured. May started performing in the second game of his rookie season but that ended after 25 games because of a season ending injury. He only played 35 games last sesaon. Even if they draft a PF they might want to keep Herrmann because of their durabilty issues with their other PF's.

A Hermann + Knight for Rafer perhaps? Rafer is a NBA starting calibre PG who's locked in for 3 years on a below MLE contract. They get rid of Brevin Knight who has durability issues and is an expiring contract. For a team lacking talent swapping Knight for Rafer gives them security in that area should Knight decide to go elsewhere next season.

One problem could be Hermann is a one year rental with no bird rights.

I believe our best target for a trade is Denver...Theyre looking to unload on PFs and need some good role players ..especially in the backcourt. There are loads of possible deals there....Although it also depends on Martin's status

Would you make that trade if you were Cleveland? Get real.

I wouldn't be opposed to Mcdyess. he's like 32, but he's still more atheletic than anything the rox have at the 4. He's a good mid range shooter and you have to respect his game. I still would like to see the rox pull the trigger on artest, then find the pf.

I don't think Jerry Sloan would take Kirk Snyder back...

Well the scenario is very unlikely to begin with but if Utah had objections it'd be Battier not being good enough or Rockets not having a lottery pick to include. Snyder is an expiring contract and trade filler to make up the numbers. He's certainly not a dealbreaker in that situation.

    Mikki Moore

    AKA-poor mans Marcus Camby.

He just makes the most sense. He's an unrestricted FA, he has a decent jump shot, blocks and rebounds well, runs the floor extremely well, very athletic for a true 7 footer, and won't break the bank. He could easily come here for most of the MLE. He could easily help defend the block and provide some weak side help ala Swift. He's not going to average 20 and 10, but he'll give you about 7 rebounds 12 points a night, on 60% shooting.

Herrmann is decent, but my problem with him is his lack of rebounding and defense.

never, ever buy-high on role players. especially after their first decent season.

also, any athletic big playing with kidd will look good (see kmart).

Any established PF is not an obtainable option for the Rockets --- too expensive. Big names are also not obtainable. Any PFs that's good for 9 pts and 7 rebounds and has size with command 7+ mil per.

So, the Rockets should get out their magnifier to look at the bench of the teams that are stacked with forward.

I find one on the Hawks bench that have some good qualities and may be obtainable: Solomon Jones

    http://www.draftexpress.com/viewprofile.php?p=606

2006 2nd round draft pick (#33). Good size, good freethrow shooting, good offensive rebound rate. Need to add bulk and skills.

According to Feigan it's probably Battier. Hopefully he can bump up his 4 rb/gm avg.

I'm not sure about that... you just have to find the right situation. I posted this is the trade proposals thread, but I think it's worth posting here as well...

Proposal: Udonis Haslem for Head & Sura

Why Miami does it: They have no guards outside of Wade and Williams, and Williams is 33. Payton is done, and Eddie Jones is basically done too. Head's shooting and athleticism would work especially well next to Wade, because Wade could guard the bigger guys on defense if need be. Plus, they get him at a pittance of a salary for the next two years.
The cap relief from Sura's contract doesn't hurt, either.

Why Houston does it: We'd be set at power forward for a good long time, at a reasonable salary ($6.5 mil/year on average). Haslem is a top-notch rebounder, he's relatively young, and he has a *VERY* reliable jumper from anywhere inside the 3-point line. He's absolutely perfect for us.

And if Miami doesn't do it straight-up, I'd throw in our 1st-rounder for a future 2nd. Peace of mind at the 4 for years to come is definitely worth our 1st-round pick in my mind.

Seriously, think about: you're Miami. You're trading your 27-year-old with some history of injury problems for a 24-year-old with no history of injuries and a VERY cheap contract for the next two years. You also get cap relief and a first-round pick. Would you honestly turn that down?

No, not at all. I'm not saying he's the right guy, but he's worth a long look. Finding the gems among another team's scrap heap is the sign of good scouting.

Based upon his very limited playing time this last year, he produced at a very nice level. Everyone talks about getting a guy that can rebound more. Well, in the 5 games he was allowed to play double digit minutes, this kid gives me the impression he could be a rebounding machine. And, he's got great size at 6'11" 235lbs. A guy like that could allow the Rockets to move Yao a little further away from the basket when need be.

Take guys like Brad Miller, Mark Blount, Bruce Bowen, Bostjan Nachbar, Jermaine O'Neal, & T-Ratliff to name a few. All of those guys didn't show much early in their careers. But, they've turned out to be very good players. None of those players did anything to speak of, until they went to another team.

What I'm trying to say is, don't just write a guy off because he hasn't done anything significant yet. The gems are out there.

Haslem IMO is totally overrated. The guy has benefitted from playing next to Shaq.

    Just say NO.

And with regards to Gooden....bad attitude, makes stupid plays, and has a high salary.I don't want that type of player on our team.

We need athleticism at the 4...interior defense,rebounding,etc....but also a guy that can run the floor a bit..

Dont waste your time on wet dream man? Haslem basically wanted to stay in Miami and gave Heat a discount. I dont see Heat will move Haslem in the near future. And why will Heat want Head when they have Jason Kapono?

Stromile Swift gave us a discount, too. He was gone after one year.

And Kapono can play guard now?
