I have to mail an imporant letter, and I was just wondering, what's the rate right now for a standard letter? Last time I mailed a letter is was 39 cents, I believe. Dumb question I know, TIA. edit: another question: if i have a first class stamp, i don't have to worry about the actual rate, right? (i know, i should know this stuff )
I remember being at the post office the day the new rates tooke effect. Somebody was trying to mail a letter with the only 39 cent first class stamps and they made him buy some 2 cent stamps. I don't remember the last time I saw a stamp with the rate on it. The 39 and 41 cent stamps just say "first class". I guess they can just tell which ones are 39 and which are 41. BTW, I was right. It's 41 cents.
It's $.41. They also offer a "Forever Stamp" that you buy at current rates but protect you in case of future rate hikes.
It's $0.41 now, butif purchased an old First Class Stamp, you'll have to buy extra stamps for the difference... I still have a $0.39 stamp that I have to go get a $.02 for...I would recommend buying the Forever stamp at current rates...Funny thing is, I only need the stamps for rebates and my HOA dues...everything else is electronic...
Can anybody refer me to a website that has forever stamps in the 20-25 cent range.. .oh what good times..
I have had no problems with a few of my bills i sent off in the last week with first class (.39) stamps. (they all made it).
If you have a Forever Stamp you don't have to worry; however if your stamp has 39 on it you will need to get a 2 cent stamp to affix but... ... anything can happen. I once received a letter with no stamp.
