I was thinking David Lee the whole time I was reading this thread. I would love to see him in a Rockets uniform...but Head for Lee ain't gonna happen, NY would be pretty stupid to let him go that cheap! Lee is a beast on the offensive boards and Head is a 6th man at best. He may get more PT in the east but he's still way undersized.

Justin Reed is rumored to be part of the Howard for James deal -- Is he any good?

I totally agree, getting a more gifted and taller version of Chuck Hayes would be lights out for this team.

Collison would be the perfect complimentary player IMO.

What about Marcus Camby? I haven't seen his name thrown out and heard he could be on the trading block. Denver has 3 PF/C in Nene, K-Mart, and Camby and are looking to get some cap relief by getting rid of one. His shot blocking and rebounding would go really well with Yao.

Just hope he won't throw Yao into the ground during practice. ;)

Battier can play power forward for us. Even though it didn't work well under JVG, Battier can provide the spacing Yao needs to operate in the paint. Adelman can make it work.

I like your idea. Given the minutes it looks as if he could do well.
Plus he´s young and athletic, if it doesn´t workout he will still be pretty much tradeable.

A big NO TO OLD PF´s.

collison has a poison pill on his contract. it would be nearly impossible to work something out w/o a third team.

I would like to see a move for Darko as a 4. After the rox add artest, sign and trade for darko using shane as a start plus maybe luther and a salary at 6.5 per. Now Darko is your 4th scorer, is easily ur best shotblocker and is still growing. Novak can come in and Darko can slide over to play center for Yao when he's out and still maintain your size. Offer Barnes mle type money and he can back up Artest and Tracy.

    James/rafer/lucas
    T-Mac/Barnes
    Artest/barnes
    Darko/Novak
    Yao/Darko/Deke

A linup like that is longer and more atheletic and still with good shooting and finishers. The team will always have a scorer on the floor. This i think is a team that can beat the spurs.

The most realistic trade would be Luther Head for Andersen Varajao. He is tall, rebounds well and he guarded some of the best big men in the playoffs (Rasheed and TD). Someone just has to tell him to stop shooting the ball so much. He can fill our need at the 4. Varajao also player the pick adn roll very well with Lebron. I can see him doing the same with Tracy. We can get a defensive minded big who will do the dirtywork. (Watch some of his videos and you can see he is a scrappy/dirty/flopping kinds of player like a taller version of Hayes)

By trading Luther we can clear the logjam in the backcourt. We have another shoot first guard in Mike James and Luther does not really have a position. As much as I love his shooting, he is not a pg and he is also undersized to guard the bigger 2s in the league.

    Rockets lineup for next year.

    PG: Rafer/Mike James
    SG: T-Mac/Snyder
    Sf: Shane/Bonzi
    PF: Varajao/Hayes
    Center: Yao/Mutumbo

not bad, we get younger and bigger. Maybe package Rafer, Sura's contract, and our 1st rounder for Bibby.

Lebron probably blames Varajao for taking that ugly scoop shot that cost them the game. The Cavs needs outside shooting above anything. Why do you think they traded for David Wesley before? A high percentage 3 pointer shooter to draw the defense away from Lebron is high on their shopping list. You saw how Lebron was swarmed with defenders everytime he tried to drive into the paint.
