You forget they have Ray Allen. Not they need jus a dominating big man. That's all

Rafer Alston + #26 for Josh Childress? The needs fit, especially if Battier is shipped in any kind of PF/Artest deal. T-Mac could move to SF and Childress steps in at SG.

i have hope that the ron artest trade will go through (bye bye vspan), and we will trade rafer with sura for someone like camby (hopefully), then francis can come back home. what a beautiful sight.

    francis/james
    tmac/head
    battier/artest
    camby/hayes
    yao/deke

thats a good bench right there, with james and artest both cappable of scoring, and head shooting light out 3s. hayes and deke are going to be the "oberto" of the team. you guys see how much rebounding, he did for the spurs.

if the rafer trade doesnt work, and the artest trade goes through, i'd trade battier for wilcox and one of their 2nd round pick. if we can get francis, i want rafer gone. but if we can't get francis, i guess we have to keep rafer.

Now that the James trade got me all excited...

    1. Trade Battier and Novak for Udonis Haslem
    2. Sign Matt Barnes to a 5 year deal at the MLE
    3. Hope to God that the Knicks lets Francis off the hook
    4. Sign Francis to the LLE
    5. Re-sign Mutombo and Hayes

    Yao/Mutombo
    Haslem/Hayes
    Barnes
    McGrady/James/Head
    Francis/Spanoulis/Alston

    Wowzers!

1 trade juwan howard for mike james- Check

2 trade VSpan, Sura, Luther, and Snyder for Nazr Mohammed and the #23 pick (pretty much expiring contracts for Nazr, who has 4 years left and the pick)

take Morris Almond at #23 and Sean Williams at #26

To start things off, I know this wont completly solve our PF problem, but I think it could help us out a bit.

    Outgoing
    Luther Head
    Bob Sura
    V-Span
    #26 pick if necessary

    Incoming
    Alexander Johnson
    Mike Miller

First of all, this would instantly be a chemistry booster. Mike Millers best two friends in the league are two current Houston Rockets. Tracy McGrady (who was irate when he was traded from Orlando) and Shane Battier a good friend from his days in Memphis. Second.. this is a huge offensive upgrade. Rick Adelman knows how to use a pure shooter, and I think Millers game now is vey comparable to Pejas who was an all star under Adelman. Third, Miller has come off the bench several times in his career and would be a great 6th man to help us counter the Spurs, Mavs, and Suns bench. Alexander Johnson is also an impressive shotblocker who hustles, rebounds, and could be a good defender to put on the likes of Tim Duncan and Amare Stoudamire. I feel this would be a no brainer for the Rockets, if only the Grizzlies would part with Miller, who will probably bolt as a free agent when his contract expires.

    Line Up

    PG- James/Alston/Lucas
    SG- McGrady/Wells/Snyder
    SF- Battier/Miller/Novak
    PF- Hayes/Johnson/26th pick
    C- Yao/Deke/Jake

There you go.. easy as that.

    nice lurker tag

but mike miller is a starter on this league pretty much on any team and having a talent like him coming off the bench when at least in this lineup you have alston and bonzi off the bench really reduces his strengths of him even being an amazing 6th man. i do like johnson quite a bit, i wouldnt mind playing tmac at PG, Miller at the 2 and Bat at the 3 but only if alston is shipped since james is supposedly a rocket again. alston can help get another big. in this scenario, but just my 2 cents on that. i like miller quite a bit myself

Do you guys think the MLE would be enough (or at least part of it) to sign Nocioni ? (I'm trying to work out sth)

sheldon williams, did pretty well in last months of the season. i'm pretty sure atlanta is going to keep him. thats actualy a good trade for both teams. channing fry for sura. i'm just not sure if the hayes/fry lineup is what we need for the rockets.

Say we trade Head + #26 for a higher pick, what pick would make it worthwhile?

Yeah. we need a rebounder to help yao out. but thats what hayes will provide off the bench. thts why i like fry. fry would give the offense. hayes the rebounds and defense.

I think a head and a #26 could very well us a good bigman. throw in Suras contract and thats a very enticing deal for alot of teams. our biggest need is a bigman.
