It was for Lucas. Denver considered that at the time as it was just the right amount to stay under LT.

Ah thanks for the facts-check. Well...that sounds a lot better. Kleiza for Lucas? Sign me up!

I think there is a good chance he is traded, he is one of our few tradeable assets.

I guess it depends on what management thinks of how he fits into a team with a more motion oriented offense.

I’m gonna say no. I think Battier will be moved to get us a 4, which will allow Mcgrady to move back to his natural position at the 3, leaving minutes for Head at the 2.

It was JL3 for Kleiza not Head.

I think Head should be traded. One for his liability at defense end and point guard position. Two for his unreliable 3-point shoots under defense. I would like to see JLIII gone and Sura retire as well. So the back court will at least have James, Snyder, Alston, and V-Span. It is a good combination of PG in James/Alston/V-Span, attacking basket in James/V-Span, 3-point shooting in James, height and athletics in Synder, and quickness in V-Span. Both offense and defense will be reliable. If Wells stays, this back court will be super.

    tough call.

i've been saying that shane can be traded (as much as i love him) because swingmen are a dime a dozen, but a good big is hard to find.

the difference with luther is that good shooters are hard to find. you can't just give away 44% from the 3pt line.

at the same time, luther is one of our most tradable assets. the team is trying to add talent, and if that means losing some outside shooting then i guess it depends on the deal.

I would much rather trade Luther than Shane. Luther can't defend 1's or 2's, can't handle the ball at all, terrible passer/post-entry passer, no offenseive game besides 3 pt shot, and in the playoffs he couldn't even do that. Very 1 dimensional, however we really don't know what he can do, considering he played under JVG's piss-poor offensive scheme, where he prayed for Yao or Mac to score, or else jack up a 3.

If landing a Rashard Lewis or a Ron Artest or even a Matrix involves giving up Luther, so be it.

A Battier to 4 discussion is worth a thread by itself. IMO, he cannot play PF full time because he doesn't create enough of a matchup problem on offense to make up for his lack of size & rebounding on defense. Battier playing the 4 last season was my dreamworld scenario but it became obvious he can't do it. If Yao was a better rebounder we might be able to get away lightweight PF like Shane.

well said....we need head's remaining cheap contract for two more years.
unless we can get something like ron artest with him, there's no reason to trade him.

here the deal with me and luther...i really like the guy his toughness the fact that a lot of people didnt think he'd be that good of a player who would be lucky enough to be in a rotation and he became the main 6th man. also he was one of the first rookies the rockets have taken since yao and boki, i always have a soft spot for the guys "born" as rockets. but the team is always more important than the players of course.

luther is difficult, he isnt that good of a pure scorer to be a undersized 2 guard like iverson, francis etc is. and he just doesnt have the vision, handles decision making ability to make it as a suitable backup pg in the league. If he had handles and some ability to run an offense he would have be an ideal backup pg for the team.

now with mike james coming back luther becomes a bit more expendable, i would say a lot more expendable if bonzi decides to sack up and return. If he can be traded to get a PF or possibly artest I would go for it, but I would not trade him for someone who is mediocre at best. The draft will have a lot to do with his status and imo bonzi's decision will too. Despite his poor playoff showing (emphasis on poor) i still think he has a lot of value (definitely worth more than his rookie contract) so he probably will be moved.

i wish he attacked the basket more, it seem like he did a lot more in the injury plagued rookie year of his and this past season he regressed into become a great spot up shooter.

wherever luther goes i'll always root for him, but i hope it'll be in rocket red

There is NO WAY Sacramento wants Luther Head. C'mon, look at their first round picks the past three seasons: Kevin Martin, Francisco Garcia, Quincy Douby. All are players in the same mold as Luther. If they want to swap Head and Douby (man, that just sounds funny!), I'm game if it nets the Rockets Artest. Otherwise, I just don't see it happening.

he's on a rookie contract, he has atleast one desirable skill, and he's not tracy or yao. that adds up to atleast a good chance we move him, or teams inquire about him.

we're not giving him away for just any player but i'd certainly use his salary as a filler in an artest or lewis deal, if it came to that.

Adelman hasn't even assembled a coaching staff, nor has the team practiced with him. How can it be claimed that anyone can't fit in Adelman's offense?

There is no Adelman offense yet.

In order to get a Power Forward of any note, you'd have to move Battier.

If Marcus Camby &/or Ron Artest are coming to the Houston Rockets then I would not be surprized that Luther Head[ an undersized shooting guard] isn't included in either of the packages. :p
