Man, now all the major chinese websites say Yao is scheduling surgery and it will need 6-8 months to recover. Did someone say before the recovery will only about 75% of Yao's shoulder and arm strength? That sucks! Yao probably will return after all star break next season. And his strength of shoulder and arm will be 75%? How will Yao play on?

Hey, enough of JVG hating already, ok? Ya he did not allow CD to train Yao. But Yao turned out pretty good. Oh, who am I kidding?? JVG, WHY YOU DID NOT ALLOW CD TO WORK OUT WITH YAO THE LAST 4 YEARS??
What other big man has CD worked with? Did he work with Otis, Chucky Brown, Carl Herrera, Mo Taylor, Kelvin Cato, and Eddie Griffin?

Seems that the most logical explanation is: 1. Yao is seeing doctors and rehabbing his injury, 2. but he isn't having the surgery 3. still, he is in no shape to play in games, so he isn't going back to China. (It may be that he could "tough it out" if he really wanted to, but exhibition games don't carry that kind of importance). Frankly, I think it's silly that the national team even requested his presence during the exhibition games... the only motivation I could really see is they are trying to sell tickets to them.
saw yao and his trainer falsone out running near rice university last week. He looked to be in good shape to me and was going through a rough workout. Honked and waved as we drove by. Went back and it was him for sure

Just saw Tmac and his daughter at 7 pm. I was driving to the Sweetwater Country Club on Palm Royale..Saw him and his daughter in a stretch limo Escalade Golf Cart...He was laughing and seemed to be having a good time...I didn't wanna stop and bug him during family time.
I believe yao is in shape to play games just that while he is rehabbing his shoulder he is not allowed to play contact basketball. which is good for him at least now he finally can have a good rest in the summer!

No it was white and like a limo. Had a Cadillac symbol in front of it. Front looked like an Escalade. I actually passed it by at first thinking wtf? I looked into my rear view mirror and wondered wtf is tmac in my rear view mirror? And then I realized it was him. He drove into the country club parking lot for 20 seconds and then sped back towards his house. He has the radio blasting in his golf cart with his daughter. Had a big smile on his face. Look like he enjoys being a daddy.
It is due to Yao Ming's long years of competitive basketball under the low post....basically it was the worn and torn of the articular cartilage there at the shoulder, not specifically attributed to a particular incident. The following is an article I researched about articular cartilage injury. It is all about the knees.....but similarly, I guess it applies to the shoulder as well.
He stopped by the country club but didn't get out of his golf cart..I've never seen him working out over there even though its right behind his house. I know he has his own bball gym in his house...guessing he has all the workout equipment etc he needs at home...He didn't look like he gained any weight or anything..It was the first time I saw him since the last press conference after the loss to the Jazz and he seemed much happier.
