Wait, the finals are still going on....

Seriously though, last time I had such little intrest in the finals was Spurs nets a few years back. Really hope the Spurs just finish off the sweep so it can be over and done with.

Hey, the Sixers won a game at least.

....and I believe one of those Nets teams won two one year. Can't remember off the top of my head.

Will Tony Parker get the Final MVP if he continues to perform?

The media is bored with Tim Duncan for another Final MVP and it seems the media wants someone new to talk about. At least Tony Parker is marrying Eva and he gets more stuffs to talk about.

NBA is trying, but the problem is that Cavs can't even make any free throws. Just like Mark Jackson dissed Mike Brown's comment about they don't get calls, "You are getting calls, just you can't get it done". By the way, that Mike Green (?) guy, the ABC guy besides JVG and Jackson, is just too stupid, even for the pathetic ABC standard. He knows nothing about NBA history, and knows nothing about the game, just picked a few words from any ESPN boards and threw them out there. This final is just pathetic, the East needs to be re-mixed with some West teams at least, to make the playoffs more interesting.

God Wondering If He's Being Too Cruel In Allowing Cavaliers To Reach NBA Finals

PARADISE—God, the omnipotent and omniscient Creator of the Universe who recently saw fit to allow the Cleveland Cavaliers to advance to the NBA Finals, expressed concern Tuesday that He might be causing the earthly city of Cleveland undue emotional anguish by doing so. "I can't help feeling that they who dwell in Cleveland and root for the Cavaliers have done nothing to warrant the dashing of their hopes after having them raised to such lofty heights," said God, who acknowledged that day-to-day life was bitter enough for city residents. "Although I move in mysterious ways, and in doing so often allow bad things to happen to good people, My grand design is usually glorious to behold. But the Cavs in the Finals…I don't know, maybe that's just plain mean." God is said to be particularly sensitive to looming tragedies in Cleveland recently, as the Indians have been playing better than expected, earthquake-level tension began building in a previously undetected geological slip-fault in the bedrock along the shores of Lake Erie, and the Browns drafted quarterback Brady Quinn.

Those Sixers are better than this year's Cavs because they played better defense, AI was harder to stop than LeBron is now and Larry Brown has forgotten more about coaching than Mike Brown may ever know. Their competition in the Finals (the Lakers) could name the score with the Cavs. Shaq was the MDE. In fact, Shaq and Kobe were the two best players in the NBA despite AI getting the MVP.

AI was not alone, he had a vastly superior coach. He also had a youthful (sic) Deke at the 5.

    Why are you complaining?

There was plenty of AI asskissing.

    Some have short memories.

If Parker keeps this up, he just might win the MVP. He's averaging 28.5 ppg with a good shooting percentage now.

Yep, the '03 Nets actually gave the Spurs a scare in the Finals. They won Game 2 to even the series at 1-1 going back to New Jersey. They also won Game 4 to even the series at 2-2. And they gave the Spurs a helluva fight in Games 5 and 6(they had a big lead in the 4th quarter that they blew) before going down.

That probably says more about the Spurs not being that great in '03 than the Nets being a quality opponent. The '02 Fakers were coming off a grueling 7-game series against the Kings the year before and still swept their asses.

Not a bad idea at all, except then, it would likely be an "All West" finals for years to come. You are correct, this is the worst finals I have seen, maybe ever.

That's a sure bet. Parker has been an unstoppable force driving down the lane. The Cavs have no answer for him. I envy him. Playing brilliant in the finals AND he's getting married to Eva Longoria in less than a month. Lucky b*stard!

It's only ugly because of all of the Spurs' hate going around. That plus the fact that Cleveland is just so completely overmatched by San Antonio. It all depends on one's perspective. The 1994 NBA Finals between the Rockets & the Knicks was no thing of beauty either but we all loved it because the Rockets were in it and won it.

I'm hearing a lot of the same complaints up here in Dallas and I'm convinced it has to do more with unspoken jealousy toward the Spurs than anything else. It has to really be eating at Mavs/Rockets fans to see the Spurs going for their 4th ring in 9 years because that opens the door to questions that many fans don't want to ask about their teams. It's mostly a coping mechanism. It's easier for folks to disparage the Spurs for this year's lopsided finals match up than to give them the credit they are due. The Spurs are only doing what any other team in the league would be doing in their place - taking it to their opponent with everything they've got when the ultimate prize is in sight. To me, that is something the entire Rockets organization (starting with Les "Blame The Head Coach" Alexander) should be watching and learning from.

I pick option "B." The Cavs are not in the same league with the Spurs. Actually, after the Rockets, I follow the Texas teams.

I'll stick w/ my prediction and pick the Cavs tonight. Looks like my prediction was off so far, although relative to each other game 1 was close compared to game 2.

It seems Boobie Gibson will start. But does it matter? Those sport writers just try to play coach. The Cavs supporting cast will play better tonite and LBJ and the Cavs will get more calls for sure. But the Spurs will easily up 3-0 tonite. After that, they may lose Gm 4 as a gift to Mike Brown.

Alone??? So I guess the NBA Coach of the Year (Brown), Sixth Man of the Year (McKie), and Defensive Player of the Year (Mutombo) don't count?

That team was better than you remember.
