Check this out! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/nba/news/2000/07/05/mcgrady_orlando_ap/ That just takes the cake doesn't it. If Duncan sees this, why wouldn't he join the Magic? ------------------ "One who conquers others is strong; One who conquers himself is mighty" - Lao Tzu
Oh my God! What's the freakin' deal. Are they brainwashing people down there? Is it a cult or something? Why does everybody and there grandma want to go to Orlando? What's gonna happen next season? Is Webber going to sign for Orlando's 1 million dollar exception? Geez! Introducing your Eastern Conference All-Stars...errr, Orlando Magic. ------------------ - hoopjunkie "when you come in da HOOD... things change."
ok ill tone it down .You people should realize that Orlando hasnt been just signing nobodys and trading them for nothing , Orlando has enough money to buy Disney World ,They can offer a heck of a lot PG-Armstrong SG-McGrady SF-Hill PF-Webber C-Duncan Wow that lineup is scary ------------------ Will Work for Clutch 101 Book [This message has been edited by moestavern19 (edited July 06, 2000).] [This message has been edited by moestavern19 (edited July 06, 2000).]
YES, MORONS....ALL OF YOU!!! Geeze, calm down Moestavern! Orlando has money....if that is brainwashing people, so be it. They almost made the playoffs with a bunch of non-star players too. ------------------ HOOP-T ------------------ [This message has been edited by HOOP-T (edited July 06, 2000).]
If I'm a moron, then that must make you some type of rectal parasite. ------------------ - hoopjunkie "when you come in da HOOD... things change."
Rectal Parasite. Damn... I think we got a new nickname for Scottie Pippen. ------------------ Just shut up and post
hahahahahaha.... but i digress.. that is a scary thought, but orlando was gearing up for this ever since pack-the-shaq happened.
Just realized: How can the Magic sign and trade for McGrady and "sign and trade Ron Mercer" in the deal? Can't sign and trade 2 players in the same deal.... sure there is some loophole I'm unaware of but I think we established this one previously. ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
Clutch, this is just my thoughts on it (big chance I'm wrong), but it seems that if Toronto can legally sign McGrady and Orlando can legally resign Mercer, then why would a trade violate the rules? If the salaries are within 15% that is. As to everyone else who is shocked about Orlando's attraction: Orlando's a nice city and the organization looks like it has a bright future. The weather's a lot like Houston, just less humid. It's spacious too, unlike LA or NY. Not to big, not to small, and real enough to want to raise a family in. And with the franchise having all those future picks, cap space, a hard working team, a player friendly coach, and good fans, why wouldn't you want to play there? It definetly has more going than Chicago. Besides having money, Chicago doesn't have much else going for it. Their management has a bad rep with young players of how they treat stars. The whole dynasty break thing caused that. And they also sucked last year, badly. Wouldn't you rather go to the better team if they offered the same money? Anyhow, I think Houston has a good future going too, but it's just that they don't have money this year. ------------------ PRO HOTTEST CHICKS FORUM!!
Quick, someone call the commissioner. There has to be some rule against one team getting all the best FA's available. Who do the Magic think they are,the Yankees? We can't just let them buy the championship. With those 3 being so young, they could dominate for quite a while. Next thing you know, they'll be going after Mobley, & after that who knows (Francis?),when he becomes a FA. That is beyond scary. Can you see itF:Mcgrady C: Duncan SF:Hill SG:Mobley PG:Francis All they'll need on the bench is cheap scrubs to give the starters a couple of breathers per game. So call the Commissioner, your Congressman, your Senators, the President(forget him,he's to busy smoking cigars.Oops,I forgot,he doesn't smoke them.) & beg them to do something before it gets out of hand, Kind of like me doing this stupid post. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Hottoddie (edited July 07, 2000).]
Well, maybe we shouldn't worry too much. Last season, we all thought that Portland was virtually a lock for the Finals with their lineup, remember? They got complacent though during the middle of the season and faltered in the 4th quarter of Game 7 in the Western Conference Finals. But one things for sure. If they get at least Grant Hill, I believe they're a lock for making the playoffs. ------------------ "One who conquers others is strong; One who conquers himself is mighty" - Lao Tzu
The Raptors GM has said that he's not doing any sign and trades for McGrady---because theres no one on the team that he wants. Left unstated is the statement that he won't be responsible for building Orlando into a dynasty. He'd renounce T-Mac first and clear some cap room. So now we may see the big three take paycuts away from the minimum--to about 7 mil apiece so they all fit under the cap. ------------------
