How likely will it be that Vspan has a breakout year?

    these Span threads are ridiculous

    we just have to wait...

will he stay with Houston this year since the management is looking for another PG?

will Alston be drafted? What about JLIII?

talking about his precentage and his shot is IMO not justified! He played his main position maybe once or twice, he was posted as a 2/3 guard most of the time, JVG asked him shoot the three with all the pressure that he had on his back....It just doesn't cut it for me...he was never given a real chance

so until he plays the 10-15 games 20-25 min in a row ya'll can go ahead and judge him, until then please stop these damn threads, it's pretty annoying

It seems he doesn't want to go back, even after Adelman's call.

We have to wait and see...

i just don't see adelman not playng him. that's probably part of the reason he was hired.

    solid rotation player at least.

if by breakouts u mean like breakouts on carlos boozers head, then he has more chance of having those kind of breakouts then any other kind of breakout

This poll seems to indicate that about 2 out of 3 fans here think he can play and should be allowed to contribute to the Rockets team next season. Reading through the threads though it seems that the 1 out of 3 that don't think he can are very aggressive about getting across their opinion.

Apparently seems he's another player like Yao in that he brings out a love or hate mentality. I have noticed that foreign players in general seem to get this reaction amongst American fans.

I voted in the 2/3s, but I think he got a chance last year and sucked. I hope he is better next year, but by no means do I think the problem was that he was not allowed to contribute. HE WAS THE WORST PLAYER ON THE TEAM NOT NAMED NOVAK LAST SEASON.

Maybe you're right and not a Charles Barkly soundbite wannabe on how much certain players sucked before getting a chance to prove themselves. Or you maybe wrong cause neither Novak or Span got enough playing time to make a judgement.

Maybe, but I tend to doubt it. Span couldn't shoot, pass, or dribble. Those are important traits for a PG. Novak was brought in to be a 1-dimensional 3pt gunner, and he couldn't even do that. Maybe they will both improve over the off season and contribute next year, but in the time that they got, no one on the team was worse than those 2 last season.

Ask the 8 ball if VSpan will ever put on a Rox uniform again. He has refused to play on the summer league team because he wants to go home to train with his Greek national team buddies. He is unwilling to grasp the fact that you must earn your playing time in the NBA, (see Drazen Petrovic, Anthony Parker, Darko Milicic, and all the other Euro's that had to pay their dues) and you earn it thorugh time. I highly doubt he, or his mother, who lived with him this season, ever adjusted to Houston; and not playing only made it worse. As talented as he is, he may never play for us again.

You mean the drazen petrovic who averaged 7.2 mins in his first year, then played in the world championship over the summer , won gold and then came back to average 7 minutes before asking to be traded because he felt he wasnt given any PT to prove what he's worth?

    I guess you're right...
