justice is a b!tch, isnt she? they gave her a slap on the wrist and she flaunted around like an entitled, rich brat... she violated every single term of her probation.. the original dui charge is a serious crime... she could have kiled herself or someone else out there... yes they are making an example of her, which under the laws they are allowed to do
That WWTDD "report" reads fairly phoney. This guy emailed me, and HE said.... My sister is calling coke withdrawal. I can buy that. If the sheriff had done the paperwork on the up&up, I doubt this would have gone down as such an explosion. At least move her to your own med facility and file with the judge. Just came across like a poor lie from a paid-off official to me. My best friend did a weekend in jail for driving on a suspended license (unpaid tickets). I wasn't and he wasn't going off about how unfair it was. Paris drove drunk, plead down for probation. Then she took a piss on the probation by speeding with her headlights off on a suspended license. 45 days is harsh, but it was already cut in half and I doubt anyone would be in an uproar if she were released on Monday for good behavior. So long as they followed the rules with the paperwork. Evan
She deserves no sympathy. She broke the law, plain and simple, while acting like a spoiled brat. Plus, when spending 45 days -- by herself -- in jail qualifies as probably the hardest thing she'll ever have to do in her entire life, then I have zero pity for her. Throw a bottle of Valtrex in her cell and be done with it already.
There are tons of cases where non violent people are released early after very little time served. She broke the law, but her popularity is working against her here. Most people that are released after 5 days would be fine serving the rest at home without any hoopla. The Judge is certainly trying to draw attention to himself, and probably feels he is doing Miss Hilton a favor by being tough. The judge does not run the jails, the sherrif does, and they can release people for various reason. I would bet she is out in about a week, for good. And, hopefully with a lesson learned. DD
Don't get me wrong ... I think the punishment is just if applied fairly (which it is not because they don't give this punishment to anyone). I agree, DUI is very serious and should have SERIOUS consequences for everyone that is convicted of that, not just Paris Hilton. "Making an example" out of someone goes against everything I think is fair, and that is what our criminal justice system is .. unfair. Having ambiguity allows discrimination of every kind into the system. My personal opinion is that there should be NO leniency for anyone for any crime. Every single person who gets convicted of DUI should be in jail X days. Every murderer should be life in jail, etc. That's the only way it all becomes fair.
Nah, you're just a compassionate person. FWIW, Hilton comes off as an ignorant doofus who really doesn't know any better. I think the only thing sadder than Hilton's behavior is the droves of people who built her up as some icon reveling in her downfall. Really says a lot about their lives.
Paris is serving more time because of her rep and a hollywood judge is getting some face time. The judge probably saw all the press Judge Larry Seidlin got after the Anna Nicole fiasco [he may get a show] and ran with it.
Someone on another board posted she was shaking and crying cause of withdrawals Can't get coke in jail...well I guess you can blow someone for it in male jail, what about female jail?
Folks, just keep in mind she's getting jail time because of probation violations. If she hadn't blown that, jail time wouldn't be an issue. Leniency has been tried and it didn't work for her.
Wait, what? She got probation for her DUI violation. How is that making an example out her? Then, she not only ignored the basics of her probation (not getting counseling), but she then violated the terms of her probation *twice*. The first time, she again had no penalty whatosever. How on earth do you get that she was treated too harshly? If a poor minority from the ghetto violated probation twice, they wouldn't be in jail for just 5 days, nor would they be allowed to serve their sentence at home.
You can blow a male guard or banged by him. Usually, in female prisons, inmates get raped by guards, in male prisons, weak inmates get ass-raped by stronger inmates. But for her type of motel-like prison, this isn't going to happen
If they would just give her the cell phone, then she could handle it. Why can't Steve Jobs bring Paris over a new iPhone? You wanna sell iPhones...give one to Paris...NOW!!!
