^ my bad profjay, im actually a big fan of lebron. if u saw me after game 5, i proclaimed him as the best player in the L then. but i take it back.

bron has GOT to be able to know these games are typical. but i was shocked to see literally ZERO impact from lebron tonight. hopefully he'll bounce back and i expect him to.

but this game shows the BIG difference b/t the west and east. if mavs didnt choke major last yr, they would have swept the heat too.

No problem, I know it's crazy that you have to stick up for Tmac on a Rockets board sometimes.

Anyways, I hope Lebron is just having the NBA Finals jitters. Maybe he was thinking too much or he really felt the pressure to score 50 points to keep them in it (like everyone thought). Lebron did worse in game 1 vs the Pistons, so hopefully he'll learn quicker and adjust better than last series. Everyone always says the finals is a different beast, looks like the Cavs will need to learn on the job. It might help if Brown could develop something better for the offense, but obviously if he hasn't by now...

JVG: "The first English word Varejao learns is 'flop'."
the other guy: "The second word he learns is 'rebound'."

    LOL!

and outside of that game 5, has lebron been "great"? there's a reason he can get to the finals b/c he plays in the east. there's a reason a tmac-led team sans yao dominated the east. please.

u mean to tell me tmac + a bunch of high schoolers can't beat the wiz sans arenas + butler???

I wouldn't call losses to teams like Hawks and Celtics domination. In wins over EC playoff teams, Yao actually was more of a stud than your boy. Recall Yao had helluva games against Heat and Wizards that were in full force, solid games against visiting Cavs and Pistons. The performances of TMac in those games are poor, incomplete (hurt back), incomplete (knocked out by Deke), and mediocre, respectively.

Still, that doesn't mean much, since both Yao and TMac were more like duds when they faced WC teams.

The whole Rockets team looks like studs against the Eastern teams.

The game showed how important offense is, the Cavs played like the Rockets and they lost, no surprise.

I'm really torn between the two teams, on one side I don't want the Spurs to win the fourth ring, on the other I hate hearing the feet kissing, finger sucking sounds from the media to the "King" if he gets a ring. No matter, sans a plane crash or something like that I guess the Spurs would win it again.

Lebron James will become the greatest player of all time, but his day has not yet come. As long as Robert Horry still plays, the road to the title goes through HIM.

I can't say the Spurs really convinced me they will win this series easily.

They're still the favourites to win it all obviously but i wasnt that impressed... They pretty much won it in the 3rd quarter where I felt it was more a case of the Cavs losing it than the Spurs winning it in the sense that although the Spurs did really well there, I expected a few better decisions by the Cavs at that part of the game...

The Cavs lost because they didn't reach the 86 point mark.

Seriously, they've won every game in the postseason where they reached that total and lost every game where they came up short.

And 86 would've been just enough on a night where the Spurs scored 85. :D

well actually now that i looked at the stats, tmac played actually above his season avg v. the west and below it v. the east.

for yao, it's the complete opposite.

    so my fault :D

he probably ran out of fingernails to chew. he ought to switch to a new tick which displays his nervousness, like constant blinking or scratching himself.

Even in a loss the Cavs showed some heart and tried to fight back even thought they could have just folded and let the game get away.

Lebron won't continue to shoot like this the entire series so if he plays better than this might get interesting.

Cavs have shown me that they can play defense and get stops when they play really hard. They just need to cut the turnovers and limit Parker's layups and they have good shot at winning.

People don't forget Lebron played miserable and they still played decent. If Lebron makes half of his shots they win the game.

In the finals Shaq was too busy turning the ball over. Once they put Zo in there and went 100% through Wade offensively then Miami did their damage. Make no mistake Wade won that series, pretty much by himself (by NBA finals standards).

Mike Brown really needs to get wise. The lineup with Hughes and Z just killed them in the 1st and 3rd quarters.

Start Gibson. And if Z starts 0-2 put in Varejao. That team has more quickness and more perimeter shooting--they will macth-up with the Spurs much better.

Considering how lacksadaisical and uninvolved Lebron was, I thought Cleveland faired well. James had two other comparable games this playoff series, losses to Detroit and NJN. I think his performance was 50% him (until the game was out of reach he missed normal shots and wasn't assertive), 50% Spurs defense.

Lebron when scoring 21+, Clev is 11-0. When he scores 20 they are 1-1, when he scores less than 20 they are 0-4. Talk about a strong trend. Cleveland has no chance if he scores less than 20 against the Spurs. I think we will see much better efforts from him, whether he can consistently enough break down the Spurs defense enough we will see. I think at SA they probably need close to 30 points for Cleveland to steal a game. Lebron needs to man up this time.

You what bothers me everyone knocking on the Cavs and claiming this series is over yet if the Cavs win tonight then they have home court in the series with 3 of the next 5 in Cleveland. Yeah folks that's all it takes to swing a series around one game and you have the upper hand. I'm not saying Cavs gonna win the next 4 but a win today would go a long way to help them gain some confidence. I never really liked this 2-3-2 Finals format because it's heavily stacked in favor of the road team. You one victory and you get home court.

Prediction tonight: Lebron gets over the butterflies and scores 30+. Bowen is an over-rated defender because his team plays much better defense and Duncan shut down the paint with blocks. Bowen has to never worry about getting beat by his man off the dribble and so he plays right in the grill of a perimeter player. I have seen games when Duncan was injured last year where Bowen got lit up by Carmelo Anthony and Kobe Bryant. Lebron is too strong and watch how he over powers Bowen when he drives to the basket. Without Duncan in the paint, James with dunk it every time on Bowen for a facial.

Dude, San Antonio's arena MC guy sounds like Frankenstein from Young Frankenstein. Everytime he yells "Tony Parker" or "Tim Duncan" I only hear "Putting on the Ritttzzzz!"
