Depends on your definition of peaked. If you expect him to go off for 62 points and do alley-oop dunks off the back board then yes he has peaked in terms of that because those days are far gone unfortunately. However, if you are a realist and expect T-mac to continue to create for other players while still scoring 20+ points and most importantly leading his team to wins and out of the first round of the playoffs then hopefully he has far from peaked. The most important thing for T-mac aside from staying healthy is dropping 15 pounds this summer and working on his strength and conditioning. Less upper body workout and more leg workouts would suit him well.
No way. His athleticism might have peaked, but he shows flashes of domination that convinces me that he's mentally far off from his peak. Part of it is willing to take pain and playing through it. The other part is taking control of the game.
Asian sensation,I do agree with most of what you said. Also peaking is not about how many points you score,it is more about how you lead your team, how you take over and how you control the tempo and make the other team play your game.
i think JVG's pushing yao and forcing the ball to him (though sometimes too much) forced yao to grow faster than he should.
Yeah, he's peaked, but it doesn't matter. He's still one of the best. He's in the top 10 range. I DEFINITELY DO NOT want him traded. The thought of trading him is just moronic. The Rockets have the two most unselfish superstars in the league together. This great thing should not be messed up. They are winning a title together soon.
I don't know if Mac has peaked or not, but I think he still has chance to improve - I'm saying this because I saw this happened to Steve Nash. Nash has definitly elevated himself to a new level since he joined the Suns.
It's not so much as peaked but his lack of speed, hustle, and rebounding for someone with his athletic ability. Tmac's handles have lessen, I know we all remember that in 2005 when someone reached, Tmac crossed them over and blew by them. This no longer happens. The back and mental fatigue are bringing his game down each year.
Well of course Tracy isn't the same player as he was in Orlando but he is steal great. That back injury slowed him down but when he's healthly he can still score 26-28 PPG. He is still a great shootr he can dunk the ball and score form everywhere from the court. He isn't the sam player but he stil can a lot and he's stil a superstar
I think T-mac has peaked. Nash did not have all his health problems until the last 2 years. Also Nash plays at his maximum efficiency when he's at the court while T-mac settles for jumpers and is declining in health.
i think tmac has peaked, but then again, i'd like to see him play half a sreason under Adelman. No injuries at the end of this season should mean he can work on his J. He used to own Lebron, Melo and Wade...i dont know if he can do that now, at least not for a full 48.
As you said,Nash is starting to have his share of health problems, but he's still palying at MVP level for the last two years. In fact he played better than ever this year. The high-tempo offence system of the Suns really fits him! As for Mac, playing for JVG doesn't really help him that much. you've seen how Steve Francis suffered when JVG came in. Now maybe Adelman can do the magic. I also think Mac would regain his confidence if his back gets more comfortable. His back did get a little better last seson compared to the year before.
he still owns melo, bron, wade if ur talking about individual matchups. did u see him punk both ai and melo on ESPN? and then put it to dwade (but sadly who went out w/ the injury). he's just gotta be more consistent w/ his shooting. if he can work on that, he'll be much more efficient. that's the only thing that is killing his game. his playmaking is on point. his defense is good (it could be better). his rebounding needs work but thats all effort. but tmac will really get on the boards if its a big game. be more consistent w/ his shot => then he'll be even better than he was last yr, a 2nd team all-nba.
he's more than peaked. he's declining fast. this had to be the worst shooting year of his career. its a no brianer he's lost his altheticism and dont give me that crap how he's a better playmaker. he was dishing off 5-6 assists in orlando too, but he could score so much easier. lebron, wade, and even melo are so much better than t-mac right now.
Just wanted your opinion. Can T-Mac take people off the dribble anymore? I think he still can, (which means there was no sense to have him run the pick and roll all the time, but no point getting angry at past things) I hope Adelman thinks he can and puts him in situations to utilize that.
Well..physically we can all concur he has peaked... But the thing with Tracy is he finds other ways to bring up his game....And he had a very good season this year (regardless of the 1st round exit).... I think (& hope) that under adelman his offense will become more efficient and I can see him being healthier as well (admittedly he has looked very good post Patterson)... That doesnt mean he will go back to his old game but it will allow him to play even better.... He will also have the opportunity to make adjustments to the way he plays and shoots over the summer since he is healthy this offseason so I expect to see a very efficient T-Mac with a very balanced game next year
