Spurs slowly grinding this out. Gooden of all people is keeping the Cavs in it. Get Gibson in to stretch the floor. And maybe try to run some plays...say a pnr or something to get that guy....Bron something...an open shot or drive. Can't Mike Brown just steal some plays from NBA2K7 or something??? Anything???

I would have liked to have seen Drew Gooden grab Ginobili by the neck and slam him inot the goal.

If you're gonna get a flagrant foul called on you anyway, you may as well get your money's worth.

As for the game itself, this sh-t is unwatchable. LeBron's presence may get some casual fans to tune into Game 1, but the ratings are gonna take a nosedive if this is indicative of what this series will be like.

I figured this would happen. The Cavs ineptness on offense is affecting their defensive energy, which allowed the Spurs to go on a run and blow the game open. The Cavs need to keep grinding out this game and figure out how to solve the Spurs defense. They are going to lose but they shouldn't waste the remainder of the game. They should treat it like a live practice session. If the Spurs completely disarm LeBron each game, it will harshly reflect Mike Brown's shortcomings.

This is ugly to watch. If the Cavs don't make an early run, I'm gonna skip most of the 4th quarter.

Even on those nights where t-mac couldn't hit a jumper at all, he played better than LeBron tonight

again until tmac wins, nobody cares.

even when tmac struggles w/ his shooting, u know he'll at least steps it up in the 4th most of hte time. bron has been HORRIBLE the last 2 games (2 big games)

James needs to score 5 points today to equal what Tmac scored on the Spurs in 13 seconds.

so for some peeps who diss tmac, this is the type of defense tmac faces in the west regularly. lebron struggles mightily in a playoff defense v. the west. do u stil lwant to replace lebron (forget the age and i woudl take bron just for the age) for tmac?

look man. this is the defense tmac faces a lot. and even bron cant penetrate regularly b/c of how they stack the perimeter.

spurs making the east looks like CHUMPs

I don't want to diss Tmac, but you make it out like there's this huge gap between the two. First, Tmac does not play the Spurs league leading defense every night w/ NBA Finals intensity. Second, Yao gets more double teams then Tmac now. Third, Tmac actually has Yao so defenses can't load up on him all game.

im sure u watch houston and yao does draw double teams, but just watch the jazz series and u will know who still is the #1 target on this team on opponent's defense.

the spurs are playing lebron like the jazz did to tmac. play him straight up when he's outside near the 3pt line. double hard off pick and roll. double a lil in the post. collapse when penetrate.

and have u seen tmac in his career v. the spurs???

and well, w/ the boards lately, ppl have relegated tmac <<< bron by a large margin brother.

Boobie Gibson still the bright spot in the Cavs. 7/9 shooting 2/3 3 pt for 16 pts + 4 assists in 27 minutes. Gibson is in a hot streak right now. The Cavs played very well in defense tonite but their offense are pedestrian. The Spurs are little bit rusty but played good enough to win. The Spurs will be sharper in Gm 2. Not too much chance for the Cavs in Gm 2.

Are we even discussing the same topics?

You implied Lebron couldn't cut it against West defenses over a season. I disagreed.

I didn't think we were comparing career performances against the Spurs, I guess I was wrong.

What's the point in bringing this up? You're right. But I was only addressing your comments, not general board consensus. I just don't see a big gap between the two when they go against West defenses. Unless you want to use a single NBA Finals game as an example. In which case Tmac still needs to work on it (and I'm not trying to make a dig at him, obviously I wouldn't be on a Rockets board to start with; Rox vs Cavs would be the dream final and I could relax).

I agree. Everyone is struggling to gets points, but Gibson seems to score the most efficiently. And I'm not talking about the last minute garbage time either. It's ridiculous he's not out there more.
