Is it a good idea to put a damp rag (for some reason that sounded bad...) on my forehead when I sleep? Have you ever done this to help the heat on your face before?
Get a cup of warm water and put it next to your bed. Then just rest a couple of your fingers in it as you fall asleep. That should do the trick...
Just drink some cold icewater with your Cipro, point the fan at your face, and kick the covers off the bed. BTW, don't try that fingers-in-warm water thing I suggested. The elves tell me that it won't solve your problem...
LOL!!!!! I bet he tried it. Its good to put a damp rag on ur forehead. Or stick ur feet in ICE COLD water. Take ur medicine and get alot of rest. The more you are active the longer it takes for you to get better. Get well soon. Does this mean you wont post in every forum now that your sick and that I will become the champion of every forum posting?
Lots of gatorade. plenty of bedrest. that damp rag thing does not work unless you change it every couple of minutes.
If you've had it all day, try a makeshift steam bath. Breaking a fever (or at least temporarily breaking it) can be accomplished in a warm steamy room. Just crank the hot water in the shower but don't get in. Sit in there and sweat for a while. When I have a fever this ALWAYS makes me feel better. As soon as you have had enough, drink a full glass of water and get immediately under a bunch of covers. Keep water by the bed so you can rehydrate throughout the night. Take a couple of aspirin (or Ibuprofen) to help ease the aches. You'll feel a lot better in the morning.
Starve a fever, feed a cold... or feed a fever, starve a cold??? damp rag's ok...ice bath is good... uh... better see a doctor, I just play one on the BBS. feel better, Dr. rH
I know this is probably too late to be of use, but for what its worth... The damp rag is a good idea - but the only benefit is to reduce your temparature. Things get very dangerous for your brain if your temperature rises to over 102, so if that happens, try and cool it down. Tylenol is excellent at reducing fever - thats what I would use. Jeff - no disrespect, but a steam bath sounds dangerous. Maybe for a low grade fever you could use it, but the last thing you want to do is increase your body temp when you have a fever.
thanks everyone, I recently woke up and feel ....somewhat drugged up but better to tell you the truth. My fever is down, and respiration better, but still minor body aches. Thanks everyone. I think I'm ready for the steam bath....or at least warm shower.
