How about instead of doing a game by game, month by month prediction, everyone predict the record for the next 47 games? This is a perfect time with Dream most likely playing on Saturday. My prediction: 30-17, for an overall record of 41-41. Unfortunately, no playoffs. Miss by 2 games. We get the number 12 pick, trade up to draft Morris (if he comes out). I really think Hakeem will do wonders for this team for one reason: the 4th quarter. He will give us a go to guy in the 4th when we really need a basket. He will change his offensive game to suit the team's needs. Plus, with him and Cato plugging up the middle, this team will be dramatically improved on the defensive end. It would be neat to keep up with this somehow, any takers? ------------------ Is it any coincidence that we are the only team mentioned in the national anthem? I didn't think so!
Rocketman95, I agree with you. I believe that Hakeem will have a greater impact than some believe. Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting the world of Hakeem. I think he will provide a stability factor, as well as a 4th quarter comfort. Lucky me, I have the "League Pass", so I get to see every game. What I have noticed, is that they are in just about every game because they can run the ball. I also see that when they drop out of the game, it is because of running the ball. The guys look really good, and then poof 4 or 5 unforced errors on mistakes trying to go to damn fast. Why does this happen? I belive it is because there is no presence down low that they believe they can go to at any time, to control the clock and tempo for a given period. All they do is run. When Hakeem gets back in the game I think they will continue running the ball 60% of the game, and then drop it in to Hakeem when they need a sure bucket, or need to control the ball. Just like they did right before Chuck got hurt. In just about every game, they have shown that they can hang with the best of them, but they need that one extra ingredient...Hakeem. I like your 30-17 prediction. I fully believe that they could take 2 of 3 the rest of the way. But I wont know for sure until I see that Hakeem wants to take on the roll that CB4 left behind.
Rocketman- I agree we will see some improvement w/ Dream, but I still think we won't be good enough to contend. I see us being a much more competitive team, but I still see the opposition still beating us in the 4th quarter, due to our inexperience. My prediction 20-27 for the final 47. Maybe if everything goes perfect we could be barely over .500 but with our luck so far, I wouldn't bet on it.
Giving them EVERY benefit of the doubt: 15-32. I can see them going 8-39 if their injury bug continues.
