Let's hope this is the final call.

I dont get it! If SVG is still have a year contract with the Heat as a consultant and he decided to sign with Magic. What give Pat Riley the rights to ask for compensation (most likely in the form of draft picks)? Shouldnt Riley ask compensation from SVG since he is under contract yet sign with other team?

I think Stan's coming into a great situation. Good for him, after having to "voluntarily" step down in Miami to make room for Pat "I need more gel" Riley.

    I called this yesterday morning:

According to another article today, by the Heat beat writer Ira Winderman, Riley IS demanding compensation, but it will likely be only one of Orlando's 3 second round picks.

"I give you my "consultant" to you as your head coach. You give me some draft picks."

Somehow that doesn't sound right to me.

it's a cut-throat league. the heat are right to try to get all they can.

if they can land one of orlando's 2nd round picks... what if that guy becomes a steal like rashard lewis?

Stan was offered the Orlando job, but didn't accept. He went to visit the Kings via private jet to see what they had to offer.

Media thought because he was born in Northern California he would take the job, but a few hours later he accepted the job with the Magic.

Since Riley is so evil, I think you forgot the part where he also demanded a night of pooper sex from Van Gundy's wife in order to get out of his contract...

this is much better than the kings - orlando has some nice building blocks and they are in a weaker conference. thats what i didnt get about the kings - if he turned down indiana than why would he go to sacramento - both teams are equally crappy, but sac will have a harder time making the playoffs.

i didnt know the van gundys were from northern cali - i thought they were new yorkers thru and thru!

i guess jvg likes those humboldt county nuggs!
