Pippen loses $1M on sale of Portland mansion PORTLAND, Ore. -- Former NBA star Scottie Pippen took a bath -- to the tune of $1 million -- on his 18,700-square-foot Portland mansion featuring six full bathrooms and three half-baths. Pippen and his wife, Larsa, sold their 2.28-acre estate in the city's West Hills area last month for $2.95 million. They bought it in 2000 for $4 million. Portland's real estate market has defied the national downturn, but things are different with big houses at the high end, real estate agents told The Oregonian. "You're trying to find a buyer that wants that location in a house that big," said Veronica Story, the agent who sold the house. "Those buyers are few and far between." The 1996 house has a gated entrance, circular driveway and fountain. A detached building houses an indoor sports court, weight room, aerobics room, fully wired media room with a kitchen, a locker room with a steam shower and sauna. The Pippens moved out in 2003, after the Chicago Bulls hired him back from the Portland Trail Blazers. They didn't list it for sale until 2005, for $3.9 million. The new owners are Florida transplants Razvani and Felicia Andreescu, whose children are grown, said Story. The couple have bought a Willamette Valley vineyard and are building a winery. I think the phrase I'm looking for is "Got paid millions to quit." I think that rings a bit nicer. Don't forget that I'm an Eagles fan. That may have something to do with it.

I do not like Pippen for how he left us- we got nothing in that trade...I do not like to see anyone lose money I like to see people prosper
I don't know why ESPN is reporting such useless news. Is the NBA Finals THAT boring that they're reporting on news that has nothing to do with sports? Shows their class. Anyways, things like this happens all the time, I don't know why people are feeling sorry for him. It's not like he's bankrupt or something. He's still rich, even he he loses all his money, he's still worth $2.9 million. Did he sell the house because he needed the money or something?
There have been rumors swirling for a while now that he's close to broke. He got 2.9 mil for the house, but that could possibly go to paying some debt he's incurred.
