I call it sodapop. I got it from my dad, who is from the OK area. Not sure if that useage is from that region or not.
I call all cola Coke. For example, Popeyes serves Pepsi but I say Coke anyways. I call everything else by its brand name. For example, Mountain Dew. If I don't care for a brand name, I say soda.
I call everything coke as the generic term, but use the brand name. example Kam: want a coke? person: sure. Kam: want kind of coke? person: Dr Pepper. Kam: Get it yourself lazy a-hole.
I grew up in the Midwest and we called them "pop". "Soda" is the term in Houston and I don't know anyone who says "coke" and means soft drinks in general. Also growing up, when we said "barbeque" it always meant ribs while in Houston you must specify what you are grilling. Another one: The term "washateria" should be deleted from the vocabulary of every Houstonian. When I first heard it after moving here I was embarrassed for the city. When I tell natives that nobody else in the whole world uses the word I still often get looks of disbelief.
In Cincinnati you can say "please" (and not with emphasis that suggests a question, like "please?") and they think you mean "pardon?" I remember my father ordering take-out food when we were there and they asked if he wanted some sort of addition to the entree, and he said "please." As in, a shortening of "yes, please." So they simply asked the question again. I think this went on for two or three hours.
I'll go with soda, soda pop, or the specific brand of the drink. I've always thought the generic "coke" was weird.

I'm from Michigan and, so it's pop. Houston and, and Texas in general, definitely lean towards the generic coke designation. Bugs the hell out of me as you have answer what flavor coke you want. Grrrr.
if you call it anything other than coke you're a dirty yankee and should be banished from the state of Texas. i'm just sayin what everyone else is thinking.
