This harkens back to those high school days when the witty tomboy of the class made fun of the slutty most popular spoiled girl in the class. SS is annoying in high doses but I'm glad she didn't hold anything back. Still hate MTV with a passion, though.
I'm going to start a petition calling for the caning of Sarah Silverman. 50 lashes will teach her not to mess with American royalty.
Paris could have scored major points had she laughed at the jokes, but she showed what everyone already knew: uptight, snooty dullard.
Far be it from me to defend Paris Hilton, but who in the world would laugh at those jokes the day before going to jail?
Come on- the world Paris's oyster. Going to jail obviously doesn't have her down that much. She's at the MTV Movie Awards. And it's not like she's going to ass-rape prison for years. If I were going to jail for sheer stupidity (like Paris) and a group of my 'peers' made fun of it, I would laugh too.
I am telling you, this jail thing is a solid career move for Paris. When you have already played the "release a video of your cooter" card and the "feel up your sister" card for attention, basically going to jail and death are all you have left. Dying was a shrewd maneuver for Elvis, he was pretty tapped at that point. The way I see it, Paris has these and only these options after jail if she wishes to maintain her current level of celebrity: 1) Have a child 2) Die 3) Lose a limb 4) Say something massively racist on film (she might have done this already, I forget) 5) Find Jesus I think those are in order of difficulty, and other than death possibly, they are all six month's worth of media, tops. If she worked her way through the whole list, it is still only 2 years or so. The poor thing literally has no actual or perceived talent to fall back on. At least Britney can make an album, and Lindsey Lohan can make a movie. They wont be good, but its a reason to go on TV. Philton has none of that. She needs to not die, because I really am interested in her not so much short term, but in her late 30's, I want to catch the act.
when your "career" is predicated on "playing dumb," you really don't have room to take anything too seriously.
that wasn't even the funniest thing of the night. it was basically a night long advertisement for transformers to begin with, then f#$king mtv had an award called "the best movie you haven't seen yet" which transformers "wins." seriously. what a r****ded channel.
silverman would kick hilton's ass, in a matter of seconds...so it would be boring to watch. I love how the whole crowd cheered when she said hilton would be going to jail.
Felt kinda bad for Paris. She's too easy a target nowadays. Sarah Silverman could get it for certain though.
I can't believe I feel kinda sorry for her. Guess it's because it's a bit of a sucker punch. But whatever, she'll go to jail, get out, and more media frenzy.
I think that joke is overplayed. You hear the same thing on Leno/Conan/Kimmel day in day out. Silverman should have better material since she is considered an A list comedian.
