What little I know about Acie Law I have learned watching a few games and the tournament this year... but is this a wrong move in case he falls to lower than 14?

    Limited Workouts
Jun 1 - Among those who do not plan to work out for the Heat is Texas A&M point guard Acie Law, who said Thursday he would not work for any team beyond the Clippers' No. 14 selection.

"Everyone I've spoken to has us going at 14, 11, something like that," he said, with the Hawks selecting at No. 11. -- South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Surprisingly, Texas A&M point guard Acie Law and Washington center Spencer Hawes don't expect to audition for Charlotte. They indicated the Bobcats were already deep at point guard and center, which isn't necessarily true. -- Charlotte Observer

acie law probably wont get passed 14. only 3 PG's really deserve 1st round grades, conley will go top 6, law could go to sacramento if bibby plans to opt out, and the clippers need to replace livingston since he'll probably be out for most of the year. if crittenton goes 14, then law could go to detroit since billups is also a FA. expect the PG's to go early since there is so little depth in the class.

The Hawks should take Conley 3rd. If Law remains at 11 then trade Conley and contracts (Claxton, Williams) for Randolph and a future 1st rd or former all-star Magloire (forget Jack). In the east a Randolph/Johnson/Smith nucleus is probably enough to make the playoffs. Portland obviously wants to make its fans giddy by reuniting the OSU duo.

Id enjoy watching Law develop on that Atlanta team. It would have plenty of weapons and generally weak opposition. But Atlanta would probably rather take a chance on Jianlian or Wright before accepting Randolph's bloated salary.

He's a point guard that doesn't pass much. He'll be an effective NBA player, but not exactly the top of the list of needs for most teams in the lottery. I don't know that it'll affect him too much though. Even if he's not a lottery pick, someone would pick him on nothing but tape.

Granted his assist numbers were inflated at A&M by the home scorekeeping, but he "doesn't pass much" is just flat out wrong. I watched about every game this year and passing was not his weakness. In fact for most of the season he was criticized for not being selfish enough in the first half when he was getting everyone else involved.

Personally, I'm not sure how he'll do on the next level, and I believe he deserves to be more a late first round pick than a lottery pick. I'm not convinced he is going to be in the NBA in 5 years, but that is not because of his lack of passing.

Of course what do I know. I thought Daniel Gibson was going to be worthless in the NBA.

I would too. It would bring me back to the Jason Terry-led Hawks.

Only this time, they'd have more talent.
