Sort of inspired by some of the responses to the "How Many Beers..." thread, I was wondering how people who don't ride motorcycles get their release on days where nothing goes their way.

The beer thread pretty much sums it up. Or a ride on the Jetski.

    Beer/music always wins though.

sometimes a good video game does the trick. nothing like a good beat down on the CPU in madden to whisk away the work worries

been hearing about this for a while, does a dog/pet really add something extra to your life?

granted, a dog can't change a failed marriage, etc. but does it help a bit?

sometimes i am sitting out on the deck and my dog is in a calm mood it is nice to just sit there and rub his head or his chest. You feel nice doing it and you can tell he appreciates it.

and to answer your question yes.

You come home and he is happy to see you. he doesnt ask any questions and no matter if you talked to it the night before he is happy to see you

I take my dog for a walk through the forests. Its really calming, since you don't have to see anyone and no one bothers you.

    Pray
    Watch Scrubs reruns
    Play games
    Drink
Go outside and lay down on the front of my car and just look up at the night sky. I live just outside of Austin so the city lights aren't covering up the stars above.
    Read and post threads here.
    Play with my dogs.
    Exercise.

    That about covers it all.

When I used to be at home with my parents, that's what I did all the time. That or I'd just play with my dog outside. God I miss having a dog around. Very very therapeutic.

    Play Madden or NBA Live
Play some Eric Clapton songs on the guitar
    and if all else fails..

call the gf and meet up and 'release' the stress on her.

or.. I'd just go to bed. Everything is always nice and calm after you wake up.

I am about to take a quick shower and head out to a crisis shelter for kids up to age six.

A few hours there and my problems really don't seem that bad.

What i do, is play basketball.
Especially if my team has practice, onec i step onto the court, im in a different world.
And after playing ball,i get tired out. Which doesnt leave room for stress!

There you go. my stress relief.

Or if i cant do that. Well music/tv/sleep ;)

Work out at the gym, drink, smoke weed, and have sex with my girlfriend.

    Not necessarily in that order.
