Yao Lewis Tmac James Francis Bonzi Span Rafer Hayes Deke Man, this will be an offense heaven for Adelman. Not sure can beat the Spurs in a 7 game series
<a href="http://www.nba.com/news/413597.html">http://www.nba.com/news/413597.html</a> Jun 2, 2007 11:33am ET Rockets Interested in Sonics' Lewis Frank Hughes of The News Tribune reports, "The Houston Rockets intend to contact the Seattle SuperSonics to discuss a potential sign-and-trade deal for free-agent forward Rashard Lewis."
Battier is trade bait because he plays the same position as McGrady -3 . He's too small to play the 4 and too slow to play the 2. That's a waste of talent on an unbalanced roster. Wells can play the 2. TMac has the 3 spot. Howard for James is great. That gets rid of dead weight Howard and gets a driving, tough guy for the 1. We need a 4. Hayes is only a backup. What kind of 4 can can we get for Battier, Sura, Head? Probably not much better than Wilcox. We can look and see who else has extra power forwards, and might take Battier +. The only other 4's I can think of that's reportedly in play is Channing Frye with NYK. Rashard is highly unlikely.
Via Seattle: Shane Battier, Kirk Snyder, Bobby Sura, JL III & No. 26 for Rashard Lewis, Damien Wilkins, Robert Swift Via Minnesota: Juwan Howard & Luther Head for Mike James & Craig Smith Via Free Agency: Antonio McDyess or Chris Webber (both can play PF/C but my preference is Dyess for his defense). G: Rafer Alston G: Tracy McGrady F: Rashard Lewis F: Antonio McDyess C: Yao Ming 6th: SG/SF - Bonzi Wells 7: PG/SG - Mike James 8: C - Robert Swift 9: SG/SF - Damien Wilkins 10: SF/PF - Steve Novak 11: PG/SG - Vassilis Spanoulis 12: PF/SF - Craig Smith 13: C/PF - Malick Badiane
battier for Wilcox - Nah, bad idea. Wilcox's game is very similiar to Stromile Swift - shear athletic abilities. Swift even gets more post moves. Both have a marginal jumper. But Wilcox is more focus on court.
Battier and Sura for lewis then Juwan and our 1st for artest and we still have the MLE Alston Tmac Lewis Artest Yao Get it done!
Actually that's a good point because they have Maxiell too and Dumars is in love with Amir Johnson. That being said I wouldn't be suprised to see Detroit try to move Sheed if/when they don't win it all. I think everyone can see Webber is washed up. I like the Francis options better personally. For the resons you outlined and because of the fact that this is the place (only place) he's wanted to play for and been successful. At this point in his career, living here with his family I think he would be much more willing to accept a minimized role for his hapiness. He has more money then he'll ever spend. In James case, he still is a wild card. You don't know what you're getting with him. I'd package Juwan and Sura and see what we can get. I know Francis is attainable and I just would much rather bring him home and give him a chance (with his upside still) then go out on a limb with James (who could end up being another Bonzi, plus he has a no trade clause).
Yeah, I saw him at Momma's at Westheimer when the Pippen/McDyess decision was being made. He wanted to come here. I always wanted him over Pippen. What a ****ty decision.
if we do trade for Lewis, we definitely need an athletic power forward. there's gonna be alot of penetration with Lewis and TMac defending the perimeter. someone needs to team up with yao to defend the paint. i hope we can get one of seattle's 2nd round picks in the deal. herbert hill, sean williams, or ramon sessions (pg) would be at the top of my list.
Yes. As I understand it, you can't trade two future consecutive first round picks. Once you trade one pick and it has passed, you can trade the next year's pick. Look up the Ted Stepien Rule.
Does Seattle own their own pick in the second round, which would be probably the #32 pick. I would like to see the rockets get something out of this insanely deep draft. I wonder if it would work cap wise if the rockets swapped Battier and the #26 pick for Lewis and the Sonics own second round pick.
"If the Rockets cannot land Lewis, they will consider offering Battier for Chris Wilcox, who thrives in up-tempo systems because of his ability to run the court. Wilcox could lose his starting power forward position in Seattle if Lewis and Kevin Durant, the team’s expected No. 2 overall draft pick, play together." HELL to the NO
