Mark Berman reported on Fox that the Rockets have let Bonzi know that they want him back. So ball lies with Bonzi.

...which would leave us with precious few options for filling out a very shaky roster.

And man am I being kind when I say "shaky."

Brandon Roy will haunt my dreams forever. :(

Obviously shot selection and limited shot taking has a lot to do with it but Chucky STILL had the highest FG% of ANY Rocket this year.... Maybe we're looking for a 3rd scorer in the wrong place :p

Yup, shot selection had pretty much 100% to do with it. :D

Interesting. Just reinforces my belief that Van Gundy just runs his teams into the ground by overplaying their minutes and expecting the 6 guys he plays to play over their heads all 82 games and the playoffs, dig, dig, dig on defense and then come down and hit 50% from the field. It never works with short rotations.

Part of the problem is whenever he tried to get some other guys in to the rotation, the team struggled....

If the team had played better with Bonzi, Spanoulis, Novak, JL, etc on the floor than they did, perhaps they'd get minutes and gave TMac a break.

From my memory, the old Knicks teams had deeper rotations than the Rockets did this year due to the fact that they were willing to pay for more players.

Sorry, but he ran those teams into the ground playing 7 players too.

JVG's lack of trust and willingness to invest short term for intermediate to long term results is what keeps him from being a great coach.

Tired? Everyone's tired by the time the playoffs start. If this is true, it's just a rookie/sophomore statement that hayes made. He didn't even average many minutes during the season. Rafer said he wanted to play 48 minutes. I don't buy this tired business. If they were tired, then they would have gotten swept. Easy as that. Chuck I remember didn't sleep during games 1 and 2 because of his son's birth. So he might have been tired. But nobody else.

TMac averaged 35.8 minutes a game.

It is not longer than your regular star players minutes and it would be hard to imagine that TMac would have played much less even if Wells, Snyder, Spanoulis, Novak were to play more. He was simply the only guy who could effectively create offense from the perimeter. None of these guys were effective when the team "invested" minutes in them.

And no... Spanoulis averaging 20 mpg was not going to improve far along within the season to take on that role. Stop dreaming.

    Check the facts:

JVG pretty much played anyone who was worth playing. There wasn't anyone who warmed the bench on the Knicks team full time that turned into anything with any other coach.

7 man rotations, all vets, nothing young to play and develop.............just like Houston. He does not develop talent, man. And he plays 6 or 7 guys into the ground.

To be fair, the "best" talent he's had was Boki and that's saying very very little.
