Well it seems that many news reporters were lobbying for Ellie, I cant remember what that interview was when they directly mentioned to Adelman that Ellie was available.

I haven't really kept up with Elie after he retired. Remind me why we think he'd be a good assistant coach.

Grit, desire, toughness, rings, belly full of guts, etc.

    Something along those lines apparently.

Because he was a good one in Golden State. The media there pretty much gave him all the credit for developing Monta Ellis. Apparently, he works very well with younger players.

Can't hurt to bring him along.

ellie would be great ot have.

he's a fan favorite / hometown hero. he brings what no one else on this team has...toughness. finally, he is great for young players (see ellis), like billy, novak, snyder, head.

ellis' skillset isn't that much different from that of head or billy.

While I think it'd be nice to retain him, I don't think it'll happen. Adelman's first assistant was interviewing and is most likely coming. Thib would likely have to be demoted to remain, which he should not tolerate.

I'd really like to know what he thinks of VSpan. He is one guy's opinion I would take as gospel if he said "VSpan is like Steve Nash".

I think he'd be great on the bench. We need someone with ties to the past greatness of the Rockets, and Mario fits the bill. Someone doggin' it on the court? Somebody gettin' a defeated look on their face? Mario will set them straight. And if he doesn't work out, put him back in the studio.

Can't find any toughness or leadership on the court... might as well have it on the bench. I would love it if Elie were our assistant coach.

It's Houston or Dallas for Elie. He has kids and he's tired of being away from his family. He and his wife both have very busy lives. He wants Houston first, but if Adelman doesn't want him, Avery has a spot for him waiting in Dallas.

hmm Avery's a feiry coach who gets on his players and yells at them.....it didnt seem to help them against the Heat in the Finals or the Warriors. So I wonder why everybody thinks Elie can change things for us.

I get it now. Some of the Vspan haters, don't really hate Vspan. They are just sick of the Vspan lovers. I am all for Vspan coming back because I think this kid has something that can help the Rockets but beyond that I don't really need or want to know. No more Polls for Vspan love or hate. Polls for Vspan vs JVG. No more threads on what Vspan eats for breakfast.

This is a thread a former Rocket who many respect on this board applying for a coaching and anyone who can only see that in terms of how it relates to Vspan is obsessed. Please it's gone passed absurd. If there is news to report, report it but let's put an end to the obsession and get back to the Rockets.

I think TT is still in the running for the head coach spot in SAC. There likely won't be news on him until SAC settles on a head coach.

The same goes to Adelman's former top assistant in SAC, Elston Turner.
