I realize this may be in the wrong place. However, if I put it in NBA dish, it probably wouldn't get answered. I see we had 9 team rebounds I think . What does that mean? Is it a tip from Morris to Cato?

it's when a missed shot goes out of bounds with nobody touching it.

the team rebound goes to the defence.

There are several examples. A rebound in which 2 players go after and come down with the ball would be a team rebound. Another example would be if you go after a rebound and it goes off the other team and goes out of bounds. The ball comes back to your team, and you get a "team rebound".

In a sense, it kind of means "we don't know who got the rebound or should be given credit for it, so we'll give it to the team".

In order to be a rebound a player has to have the ball with both hands after a missed shot.

Not exactly. A lot depends on who is scoring the game. For example, in some arenas, scorers won't give opposing players rebounds if the ball hits the floor first like when the ball sails out for a long rebound. They just count that as a team rebound. On the other hand, the home player might get that individual rebound.

Rodman used to rebound with one hand, when he'd cup the ball in the palm of his hands.
