Someone wake me up when there's some real news.

Because last time I checked, Spanoulis was still under contract, and Spanoulis still couldn't hit the broad side of a barn if his life depended on it. Also, for the JVG haters going ga-ga over his comments about JVG, JVG never claimed "he told me he was McGrady in Greece". That was a twisted and spun interpretation by posters at ClutchFans.NET that took a life of its own (especially since it was such a great reason to make fun of him). If you don't believe me go find the original Chronicle article and read it yourself.

    *yawn*

Regardless of how he phrased it, what sticks out about the comment is that he thinks that he came here with some sort of rep. He has no rep, and until he just bears down and works his butt off he's not going to see the floor in the NBA, no matter who the coach is. Sarunis Jackisivious (however the he&* you spell that) had much more of a rep than he did before coming over here, and he has been relgated to the same bench warming post.

All I'm saying is that it is on him to improve and show something in the way of progress in learning the NBA game. Nobody cares how many touches he got on the national team, this is the NBA and he has to adapt, nobody is going to change the team to adapt to him. I hope there's a gym in Crete.

Ok just got back from "breakfast with the Rockets" it was with CD and I asked him about his draft day comments about Spanoulis and what he felt about his guy.

CD loves Span, thinks the world of him, then started to stray but I asked him point blank "CD if you were coaching the team last season would Spanoulis have played point and not out of position at the off gaurd" CD in many, many words said yes.

It seems to me (CD did not say this) that JVG and CD did not get along or see eye to eye but CD of course stated he thought JVG was a very good coach and did a great job last year with the team.

Not gonna say what CD said about Span and his contract but Span will be back, he is under contract and will be a major part of this team.

One more thing that might be of intrest is CD stated that in 93 things were breaking right for us and then we had the Spurs beat us on the last game of the season on the bs late tip in and how after we lost to Seattle guys took that bad feeling and really came back the next season focused (15 in a row 22 out of 23 to start the season) That team only added 1 free agent, Elie and 1 draft pick Cassell. CD is pumped for next year but knows how hard the west is but thinks we match up good vs the best team (Spurs)

Span will be back and I think you Novak fans will be happy because he should get a chance.

I went to the Chron article and that is what he said almost to the T...

    Van Gundy nods his head.

"(Spanoulis) says, 'I was McGrady back home.' Great. McGrady is McGrady here," Van Gundy said.

What I find amusing is makes it worse is Adelman watches a few tapes and wants Vspan on the roster can't see why Vspan didn't get more minutes. Obviously Van Gundy made it personal with VSpan and tried to make him look bad and in the end he is on the outs looking in.

Sarunas had more of a rep because he grew up in the states and played high school and college ball in the states...

European people would not really hype him up that much. On the contrary Span came out of nowhere and developed in a VERY short time (hence the lack of hype)...

The fact that JVG & CD did not see eye to eye makes me respect JVG even more but I forget that you're a charter member of the "CD Did A Wonderful Job Here" fanclub. As I could care less what JVG now has to say, I could care even less what CD has to say now and in the future. Needless to say, I am very happy that he's gone.
