David Gow, CEO of Gow Communications, which purchased the station earlier this year, said today that Granato will be the station's vice president of operations and will be responsible for setting the daily broadcast lineup. That lineup, Gow said, will include a show hosted by Chronicle columnist Ken Hoffman. Gow also is reported to have had conversations with Sean Pendergast, the five-time winner of the annual Jim Rome smackoff contest, about joining the station as Granato's co-host. Gow said, "Sean is a great talent. I've enjoyed listening to him on the Rome show for years." However, he described as "speculation" reports that Pendergast will join the station. Gow also said 1560 AM probably will have new call letters when the new format, which he described as a mixture of sports, news and entertaiment elements, launches later this year. Granato left KILT earlier this year after reaching a settlement in his lawsuit accusing the CBS Radio-owned station of failing to pay appearance and advertising fees provided in his contract.
Good to see Granato back. It will be interesting to see how Sean the Cabliasian would do with his own show. His yearly call to the smack off are amazing.

Granato was always funnier than Lance. Lance tries too hard and John hardly even tries. Listening to Lance and MattJ try to out-funny each other every morning is becoming almost unbearable. I miss Granato. No offense to MattJ. He's great, but teaming him with that Adam Sandler wannabe Lance was a bad move.
I think Matt and Lance in the mroning is like too many cooks in the kitchen.. when it was John and Lance, Lance was the "in-depth" sports guy and John seemed to be more of a overall fan... MattJ is great, I tend to agree with alot of his points and he seems to catch Lance off guard because Lance is not used to having to defend the crap he says. So as far as that goes, I enjoy hearing Lance get put in his place. Granato would be great on satellite where he could be uncensored. the smell jeremy's finger line is classic.....
Don't listen to these guys. I've enjoyed the mattj/Lance combo so far and think you guys will be on for a long time.
Well the big question is, will trailor wheel and frame stay with Lance or follow John to the new station?

I don't have faith in Granato getting such a high position. He's not that smart a man. Listen to him speak. He should take a writing class before starting work.
Agreed. I don't even bother switching over to AM790 or FM97.5 at all anymore, except during the Golf Hour. MattJ has elevated that show and they blow away any combo in town by a mile.
