but when u say that, the way JVG ran our team, yao and tmac was 50%. in fact, we went to yao's isos a lot more in the playoffs. so yao was not a 2nd option or 2nd fiddle.

tmac took 22 shots; yao took 18. but yao had 4 more ft attempts, which equal basically two more shots and u dont consider a lot of times either he's fouled or turning the ball over.

we went through yao A LOT and rightfully so.

I'd put Amare and Duncan both above either one of those guys...

And I'd also say you need a solid big man for rebs and defense. If he's a force on offense then that is just a bonus. Just look at Detroit for the past several years with Ben Wallace playing center...

before you think about trading yao for kobe in a heartbeat and dream about a 1 + 24 combo think about this: If tmac can't work out with his cousin at raptors, why do you think bringing in kobe bryant, and the 2 will click and bring a championship all of a sudden. Worse is after losing yao, the year after, tmac or kobe demands another trade and rockets ends up losing 1 more

No its not gonna work. Even if both parties agree on the deal, T-Mac + Kobe will overlap the SG position.

Kobe at SG. Tmac at PG. We'll have our own version of Jordan and Pippen.

If Kobe has to come to Houston, then I want to trade Yao for him - that's the only way I can still watch Yao's game without having to watch Kobe ;)

Seriously, hell no. I don't want to see him in Rockets uniform.

it doesn't matter whether yao or tmac as long as we get kobe. yao and tmac are both losers.

Kobe & Tmac vs. Jordan & Pippen

Kobe & Tmac vs. Jordan & Pippen

Kobe is close but not on the same level that Jordan was on, prabably because Jordan was more coordinated and not a selfish basketball player. Tmac is better than what Pippen was, prabably could be up there with Jordan & Kobe if he wasn't so concerned about his back getting injured off any type of contact.
I say the Kobe & Tmac combination because Kobe is the better scorer out the 4, and Tmac has the ability to put up big scoring numbers and be a playmaker.

Jordan and Pippen are mentally stronger and nastier. Mac and Kobe might win some games but in a best of 7, it'd be Jordan and Pippen in 6 with TMac and Kobe never the same.

Tracy wouldn't like to play with Kobe, gut feeling. He wants to be the man that gets the glory.
I can hear it now. "See, Tmac needed Kobe to get out of the first round".

They have the potential to play well together, but I really don't see it. I see Tmac playing ultra passive with Kobe on the team.

You are just hilarious. Maybe you don't remember your basketball history too well. Back in the day, people 6'10 and up played, gasp... the 5. And those were the days in which there were better competition. I mean wow, holy f*ck, now that they choose to play face to the basket and all of a sudden people try to spin them off as a different animal.

Rik Smits could dominate now? Then I would have thought Manute Bol and Gheorge Murusan, Shawn Bradley et al would just eat up the competition.

And Yao didn't play well in the series, it's true, because it is a matchup problem for him. But you know what the funny thing is? If he actually gets the foul calls that he should, let alone Lebron or Kobe type calls, he'd be shooting right around the 50% range, getting 10+ FTs a game and we'd be losing to the Spurs next week.

And your "Yao has never carried his team to a playoff series win" crap is even more hilarious. Yao has been in three playoffs. The first one was against a Shaq, Kobe, Karla, Payton led team. The second was against a 58 win Mavericks team. Put simply, our team simply WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH. Had we won either series, it's called an UPSET. This year was the first year in which we arguably should have won. ARGUABLY. It reflected nothing on Yao except our lack of talent relative to the competition.

And Okur blocking Yao 2 or 3 times a game? HA. That's just rich. He may have done it once or twice, but 99% of the time his elbow/hand was on Yao's arm. Or he's leaning into Yao while he's fading. Or he's pushing and grabing the arm while Yao goes up for the shot. Those are fouls any way you slice it.

Well, I don't think either Kobe or TMAC wants to be Pippen. Tell me why TMAC left Raptor in his early career? Cause he hated to be the 2nd option after Carter, even the latter is his cousin. If TMAC couldn't even tolerate his cousin to be the MAN, I don't believe he would be a Pippen. No way.

You give this excuse for Yao and yet you guys continue to bash Tmac. Didnt he get grabbed, and hit and got no foul calls either? Didnt he also face the same mavs? So u give the "we have weak role players" excuse for Yao but not for mac?
